We're currently using a manual process for our agency hiring, relying mostly on LinkedIn for sourcing qualified candidates. Everything else follows manually from there (screening applicants, setting interview questions, scheduling interviews, conducting interviews over Zoom, and analyzing results to make hiring decisions). The process is slow, tedious, and we are spread thin.
Velents solves all these problems with its workflow. Start by creating your company profile page and adding positions.
Once the position is live, you can start interacting with it, sourcing applicants, looking at CVs, adding interview and test questions, which is my favorite feature and a huge time saver. You just select the topic, and it will generate a question for you that you can also modify. If you don’t like a question, you can click on the change icon, and it will show different suggestions similar to how AI writers work.
You can also add typing tests, challenges, assessments, and live whiteboard sessions that can be scheduled with the candidate.
And after some time, the platform will start matching candidates to the position that you created. At this point, you can start scheduling your interviews. The messaging feature lets you communicate with the applicants inside the platform so that everything is in one place.
The onboarding tour and check-list makes it easy to get familiar with the workflow and once you've gone through it once, it becomes straightforward.
The platform still needs some UI improvements, but nothing that prevents you from using it right away. It's well worth the investment
Velents will help put our hiring on autopilot. A huge time saver for our bootstrapped software development agency.
It also has an A.I video avatar that converts your job description into a video. I was amazed at how good it is. While there are the same issues with making sure you include good punctuation and also needed to write words like plus, dollar or pound rather than the symbols + & £ $ for example. overall i was extremely impressed.
Hopefully moving forward they will also have a UK based voice as we are recruiting here but that is not a deal killer for me at this time.
They have a number of applicants but not sure if any are in the UK but I am using it to manage applicants rather than a job board so either way is not that important. We will be running ads to the links
Support is right on the button too. I made a few silly mistakes and got stuck a few times but support was on it and helped me out and got me on track.
If you recruit staff then I highly recommend that you jump on this offer.
As a non-technical manager, I really enjoyed using Velents as a recruitment solution. throughout my career I've always faced doubts while hiring Developers, you never really know whether they are qualified enough or not, and are they really at the seniority level they claim they are? as you know everybody is a Seniors now! However, after using Veletns I'm really satisfied with the results that I saw. 1- Easy to use product 2- Full-fledged hiring platform where you can I can assess candidates easily and send interviews, invites guests, and reject or accept people. 3- You can request to upload your own assessment (Didn't use it yet) --- Some improvement suggestions: 1- Add more code assessments 2- CNAME to use my own Domain 3- Other languages localization 4- Add candidates to talent pool to find ready candidates rather than sourcing candidates from other platforms 5- Add free job posting on LinkedIn and Indeed
Overall: Great Product with a promising roadmap I would give it an easy 8/10 and increase it to 9 after launching new features

I think the idea is good - I have interviewer.ai and decided to try out velents because it has code assessments. However, this product is still very unpolished compared to interviewer.ai. I am trying to create a job posting this weekend and it seems that my applications need to be manually approved first before it appears..?
Also, you can't preview questions before adding them. Each time i click the checkbox, it loads the questions and I have to delete the questions before looking at other questions.
For code assessments, i usually want to send it over to a developer to take a look at it without them having to jump through all the other questions.
UI and UX need a lot of improvements. The onboarding flow is very confusing and I tried to manually trigger the onboarding for code assessments but it didn't work - I'm guessing because you need an active job for that to happen?
Ultimately - good idea and I wish the team all the best in getting this product off the ground. I am going to use testgorilla for the coding test for now and interviewer.ai for more in-depth interviews.

Hello! Thanks a lot for your review this is something we really appreciate! We can't deny that we are working on improving our ui/ux, in general, this will make the usability better for everyone. I only need to clarify that - There's no manual submitting for the positions it only takes 5-7 minutes as we generate a video of the AI assistant to explain the job description in the video - You have...
