When was your company founded & where is it located?

Our company was established in 2021 in India. Over the course of two years, we dedicated ourselves to developing our proprietary lip-sync algorithm. In 2023, we proudly launched our initial commercial version of the tool, marking a significant milestone in our journey. Furthermore, recognizing the importance of nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship, we also expanded our presence by incorporating in Canada. We were fortunate to be incubated as a startup at the DMZ, a globally renowned tech incubator located in Toronto. This dual presence allows us to leverage diverse resources and ecosystems, fostering growth and innovation as we continue to push the boundaries of video creation technology.

What are past projects, failures, or successes you’ve had in your career?

As we look back on the journey that led us to create VidBoard.ai, it’s clear that our paths, though distinct, converged on a shared vision rooted in ambition, resilience, and a shared passion for innovation. Our story, rich with experiences, speaks volumes of how diverse backgrounds can collaborate to drive forward technological advancements, particularly in AI and educational technology (EdTech).

My co-founder, Tushar's fascination with technology started early. Diving into website creation and app development during his high school years gave him a foundational understanding of the challenges and triumphs in tech. It was this early exposure that sparked his interest in artificial intelligence (AI), driving him to pursue advanced studies and eventually, co-found several startups, including VidBoard.ai. Each project, successful or not, taught us valuable lessons in perseverance and adaptability—traits that have become the cornerstone of our venture into AI for video content creation.

On the other hand, my journey took a slightly different route. Coming from a legal background, I ventured into the world of educational technology with a desire to make a significant impact. Over a decade in the EdTech space has not only enriched me with profound knowledge but also revealed the pressing need for scalable solutions in video content creation. This realization was the spark that led to the conceptualization of VidBoard.ai.

Together, our experiences—Tushar's from navigating the intricacies of AI and technology, and mine from understanding the nuances of the EdTech market—provided a unique blend of skills and insights that became the foundation of vidBoard. Our venture is more than just a startup; it's a testament to our belief that leveraging our past lessons can inspire future innovations. vidBoard stands as a symbol of our united journey, underlining our commitment to use our complementary strengths to pioneer new solutions in the ever-evolving tech landscape.

What’s the origin of the idea for your product?

When I was really diving into running my online legal education company [Enhelion], I hit some big roadblocks. One of the toughest parts was trying to get experts to record lectures. Even when I did find someone, they often felt shy or uncomfortable talking directly to the camera. Plus, let's face it, not everyone is a natural in front of a lens. The other major headache? Equipment. As a small startup, we just didn't have the fancy gear needed to make high-quality videos. And even if we did, recording lots of videos was a huge drain on time and money. That's when the light bulb went off. I figured there had to be a better way to tackle these challenges. Around that time, AI technology was starting to get some buzz, so I decided to explore that avenue. I shared my idea with my buddy Tushar, who happens to be a whiz in the AI world. I said to him, "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if we could make a picture of a person actually talk?" And you know what? He was all in from the get-go. And that's how vidBoard got its start. The date was 22nd of December 2020, which happens to be Tushar's Dad's birthday. :))

What problem is your product solving and how?

Our product addresses a trio of challenges: video creation is traditionally expensive, time-consuming, and complex. vidBoard steps in to revolutionize this process by simplifying, speeding up, and democratizing video content creation.
