A solid tool for content repurposing

Creating content for multiple social media platforms can be a real time suck. Video Tap is helping me get some time back!

You can see my demo of Video Tap here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZjD7SNATTU

Video Tap promises to transform a single video into multiple formats with just a few clicks. After using Video Tap for a while, I'd say in general it lives up to its promise, but could do with a little more polish to truely shine.

Things I like:

1. Easy Video Import: You can add videos from YouTube, Vimeo, or upload them directly. If you've linked your YouTube account, you can see all the videos you've published and select the ones you want to repurpose.

2. Automated Content Creation: I've seen a few tools that create shorts from video, but this is the first to also generate a blog and Twitter (X) posts.

3. Customizable Clips: The tool creates multiple clips from your video, each with added subtitles. You can customize these clips by changing the highlight colour, styles, transitions, and text size. The clips can also be adjusted for different aspect ratios, such as landscape or portrait mode.

4. Blog Post Generation: A really smart idea, convert your video into a blog post, complete with screenshots. You can change the screenshots if needed, the blog post can be exported by copying it as HTML or markdown and then pasting directly onto your site (in my case WordPress, which maintained all formatting and images).

5. Full Transcript: Video Tap provides a full transcript of your video, which can be saved or used with other AI tools like ChatGPT to generate more content.

6. Organization and Tracking: You can mark videos as published to keep track of your content, ensuring you don't overlook any videos.

A solid start, but there's room for improvement. The video editor isn't as developed as the recent deal Minvo, and I'd also give Minvo the edge in with subtitles (in terms of look and use of emojis).

The blog post is a fantastic idea, but the output is usually more of a first draft, a summerisation of the video rather than a blog post on the topic. Dev team if you're reading this, go grab Zimmwriter to see a really good implimentation of video to blog.

Also note there is no social media post scheduling, you'll need to do so manually.

Looking forward to seeing where they take the product, I think this one has great potential.
