Q: Custom Prompts by user3500

User3500 listed his custom prompt. I'm just wondering what that is? Does that come under the "Custom instructions" part?

The prompt he wrote was very long and I would assume that custom instructions are not meant to be prompts from scratch, but just "add ons" to the program's prompts.

User3500's custom prompts seem to be completely new prompts as it mentions so many things that I would already expect that the program's default prompt would already include.

So i'm confused. Is there an option for custom prompts where we create 100% our prompts - prompts which do not layer over the default prompts? Or is the option just for additional add on instructions? THanks.

A: I understand the confusion. Yes, you are correct in your assumptions. The custom instructions is for add ons. Our prompt takes care of a lot of the stuff mentioned is user3500's prompt, but there is some customization in there for his/her specific use case that demonstrates a great use of custom instructions.

For example saying "Please create a blog post" is not something you need to add in the custom instructions (in doesn't necessarily hurt though).

But a lot of the other stuff like "At the beginning of the article, please describe the advantages of the functions/tips mentioned in the transcript and what the reader gains from knowing and using the function." is a great use of custom instructions.

@jonathanjon: Don't worry, you can use videotoblog without ANY custom instruction with great results already. In other questions, other users asked about AI detection and so on. My prompt is just an example of how you can tweak and customize this great tool. It beats any other tool I've tried with it. Many other tools don't allow that level of customization.

To put it in perspective: What might seem repetative in the prompt is in fact fine tuning (which needs repeating context) so videotoblog writes better than me on the first try. I have written10 best selling books (for real publishing houses) before AI and >100 magazine articles. It would take me 3 days to write one such post for one of my 10 minute videos the way the tool does with this prompt.

And Andrew included a lot of great general instructions already, as he said the custom prompt works as add on . I ALWAYS want FAQs at the end, so I just turn on his slider without mentioning it in my prompt. I always want screenshots and want the tool to address the reader in the second person, so I just choose it from Andrews preconfigured options.
