Q: Why use OpenAI?

I believe we don't get to select our AI model right? And in one of the comments, you mentioned using OpenAI - having switched from Claude. Why is this so? Since Claude Sonnet 3.5 is known as the best model for writing. And if you're using OpenAI now again, which model? Thanks.

A: Correct, the ability to select your own AI model was removed after receiving feedback from all of our users that a) they couldn't tell a difference between the models so it was pretty much just a distraction, b) we got rid of credit based plans b/c people didn't like them so we are not able to offer premium models under these new plans that allow unlimited regenerations, and c) I've committed to making the AI model choice a responsibility of Video To Blog based on feedback from our users who say they just want "the best one".

We do a lot of testing between the models and yes, I agree sonnet 3.5 has a reputation for being the best with writing, but we actually did not find that to be the case with Video To Blog. I'm not exactly sure why that is (I assume because our writing is based on a transcript and not just creative writing coming out of thin air and/or some combination of the prompt we use), but yeah, myself (and all of users) could not see a difference with Sonnet 3.5 over GPT-4o-mini so it didn't justify the cost.

We are currently using GPT-4o-mini. As more models come out we will be testing them thoroughly to see if any significant improvement is made. I'm committed to always using the AI model that produces the highest quality content for our users.

All of that said, we have found the highest improvement in quality of our blog output comes from adding custom instructions to tell the AI exactly what you want.

Thanks for this clarification Andrew. Now taking this one step further... if down the road you determine that a "5x credits premium" LLM is consistently delivering superior results, and you then added the "option-to-choose" back into the platform, would that mean that we should expect that the "X blog posts per month" limits also adjusted down. Continued...

So, for example, a Tier1 purchase using the premium LLM would be 10 / 5 = 2 blog posts per month... and so on up through higher Tiers? I am just thinking ahead in terms of future proofing my purchase. Thanks.

I wouldn't ever change "X blog posts per month" that you signed up under. That would be messed up. In this hypothetical situation, I would maybe just cap the number of times you could regenerate blog using a premium model or have it be an add on. I'm not quite sure, but I'm committed to do whatever is the fairest for our users and enables them to create the highest quality content.

Wait, you switched to GPT4oMINI? MINI?!!!? GPT4o creates great blog posts, and is far better than mini. Nowhere in the appsumo terms did I see this mentioned. Please clarify which model we will get (I was on your paid credits plan for months, and I happily paid the 5x more credits each time for GTP40 vs mini after testing it 10 times in comparison). I wouldn't mind bringing my own API key for 4o.

If you were on the previous paid credits plan, that feature is still available to you. You can select GPT-4o.
