Q: I wanted to purchase Tier-3, but 1.)
you say
🔹 "I would like to emphasize the fact that videos played IS NOT page views. If a user has 100,000 monthly visits, it does not mean they will have 100,000 videos played, as it's very likely that not 100% of the visitors will play the video."

❓ And what is with autoplay videos?
2. You say:
🔹 "As per our Terms of Service, you shall not use Vidjet as any type of video player architecture to build your own platform on top of our video player. You can use it to display informational/educational videos that are short-form (for example, give a brief explanation of your courses), but not to host them as you would on, say, Skillshare."

❓ Sorry? Unlimited videos, 1 GB (tier-3) and only short videos allowed? 300MB = 5 minutes, 1Gb = 16/17 minutes video, would be enough for tutorial-videos. Rename your product to ADs-Vidget, if so.
3. Out of your TOS:
🔹 "D. Modifications To The Services
You acknowledge and agree that the Services may change from time to time without prior notice to You. Changes include, without limitation, changes to fee and payment policies, security patches, added or removed functionality, and other enhancements or restrictions. The Company shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, price change, suspension or discontinuance of the Services."

May 15, 2024A: Hi, and thanks for your questions here. I'm happy to bring further explanations:
1) On videos set to autoplay, a play is counted after 4 seconds of viewing time.
2) Can you precise what ADs-Vidget stand for, please? I'm curious to know more.
3) I understand your concern, but I believe most software products have this mention to their TS in order to be flexible if there's an urgent need to modify a certain functionality. The goal here is (obviously) not to restrict usages of our product.
"1) On videos set to autoplay, a play is counted after 4 seconds of viewing time."
Most visitors stay longer than 4 seconds on a page, they read for example, while the video autoplays.
"2) Can you precise what ADs-Vidget stand for, please? I'm curious to know more."
I thought I did this yet. You allow only short-form videos and disallow tutorial videos. On the other side you can upload 1 GB Video, which is 16-17? minutes playing time, and in addition unlimited videos.
What you allow is "make ad-Videos in short-form", nothing else.
Thanks for your answer here.
1) A video view on most-common social platforms is counted after 3 sec. So, it seems fair to us to count it after 4 sec. How many seconds would seem fair to you? Thanks in advance for your feedback!
2) I would just rephrase "Ad videos" with "Informational videos". Indeed, Vidjet is not suited for video ads, rather for short and informative videos, mostly for e-commerce websites. Does it make sense to you?
Thanks again!
1.) Did you read, what I had written? I didn't "say" 'time watching video' I "said" 'time they read'. Or do you have an eye tracking and register what content is watched?
2.) No, really, this does not make sense for me. Again: What is a short-hand video in your definition? Again: 1 GB Video Upload =! Short-Hand. "only for short and informative videos for e-commerce sites" =! Unlimited videos.
Anyway, thank you for your replies. Now I know to 100 percent, that this deal is not for me.
And funny, that you have or see the need, that you must moderate comments and you decide, which comments are published.
By the way, it's a real pity about your restrictions. You are finally a company that offers a truly GDPR-compliant product. Many here claim GDPR compatibility but set tons of cookies and 3rd party requests.
That's why I think it's a shame that I can't use Vidget, because my intended use would have been tutorial videos (with 5 to 15 minutes) that I would embed, (but not a whole course obviously). I would not have used Vidget on e-commerce websites.
Hi again!
1) My bad, I did miss the "read" word.
Yes, on some video formats we do use a viewport tracker. This enables us to know that end-users are "actively" watching a video. Yet, for the bubble format, this can be misleading since the video is floating.
Just want to make sure that you don't think we're trying to fool our customers with this 4-sec view time. This is not our goal, and will never be!
2) Yes, it really depends on the definition. Since it's always changing, it's hard for us to commit to a one and single definition for short videos. A few years ago, a short video was 7 sec (introduced by Vine). Then Snapchat came with 10-sec videos. Then, TikTok came with 15-sec videos, and 30 sec, and 60 sec, and now up to 5 minutes.
It seems like even big tech companies are not sure about that.
3) Regarding your last comment, could you please email me at support@vidjet.io? I will answer myself. I'd like to see if we can do something for you, but I need to know better your need and your business.
Anyway, thanks for your great questions and feedback here. Very insightful. 🙂
