Q: This is the first time I see a deal getting downgraded.

I was going to buy today but I’m skeptical after this unnecessary surprise.

In the future, there might be another change saying, “We are changing the LTD for your good so you can pay only $19/mo hereafter”

I don’t tend to be mean, I’m just upset about this change just when I’m about to hit the buy button

A: Hi,

Thank you for bringing it up to us.

I would like to clarify that the deal has not been downgraded. When we first launched, we had to keep the watermark and a lower upload limit in exchange for unlimited video plays. Now, we simply exchanged these because more than half of the queries we had were about removing the watermark and increasing the video upload limit. I strongly advise against supporting the idea that this change has been a downgrade. It is an exchange based on sumo-ling feedback, FOR sumolings' benefit.

In case that there are any websites that will ever exceed that limit, I recommend reaching out to support@vidjet.io, and we will figure something out for you.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

I was literally going to say the same thing. I had this in my cart and I was going to purchase it—I'll hold off on it for now.

Previously Tier 3 didn’t have watermarks, and had unlimited plays.

It was those features that primarily convinced me (and many others like me) to go for the deal.

Unlimited plays was conveniently removed out of nowhere

What caught my attention was Unlimited Plays. I don't want to always be seeing limits and calculating when I have to email support, stop campaigns and a lot of manual actions.

Hello linos, your concern makes total sense, and I'm happy to give some context here.

We chose a monthly videos-played limit that is very high (200,000) and we do not expect customers to reach it. If you do, we will NOT stop your videos from playing directly. We will trigger 3 warning emails, and will propose an add-on to get more video views, according to your needs, and being as fair as possible with your legacy plan.
As of today, we haven't determined the exact amount for an extra X videos played. Yet, be sure we will be fair with that. This shouldn't be a blocker in moving forward with our product.

Hope it is clearer!

I also see it as a downgrade.

Same Here Really Upset. Plus there is no watermark on Tire 3. On Agency Plan Expected to have multiple clients, it is not a single individual account for it will get over the limit. I would love to support this app but I am not sure this is the right way to do it to make this kind of change.

Hi info8933Y, happy to clarify here!

We initially set "unlimited views" with two restrictions: 1) the on-video watermark, and 2) the 300mb upload limit. After engaging with Sumo-lings, we realized the no-watermark option + a higher upload limit would better suit their needs. That's why we decided to update the last tier with swapping these restrictions.

About the no-watermark option 👉 we also realized many people from the AppSumo community work with clients and need an option to propose them a service/feature/product that has some whitelabelling possibilities. This is a dealbreaker for them. Just so you know, in two days we received 44 requests for it.

Cheers!

And you can see a lot more responses for unlimited.

What do you say now?

Hey Sumo-ling 👋

We believe that we have answered this question already. As for concerns with regards to reaching the limit, as already mentioned, it is unlikely that the video played limit (which is not the same as pageview limit) to be exceeded. In case the limit is exceeded, we are working on a one-time add-on, especially designed for Sumo-lings.

In case you are still unsatisfied with this option and have already purchased one of the Vidjet tiers, I want to take this opportunity to remind you of AppSumo's 60-Day refund policy.

I hope this clarifies it for you, cheers!

Hi deshanp and Someone,

I understand your concern 100%, and I'd like to clarify a few things.

We initially set "unlimited views" with two restrictions: 1) the on-video watermark, and 2) the 300mb upload limit. After engaging with Sumo-lings, we realized the no-watermark option + a higher upload limit would better suit their needs (more details below*). That's why we decided to update the last tier with swapping these restrictions.

Yet, we chose a monthly videos-played limit that is very high (200,000) and we do not expect customers to reach it. If you do, we will NOT stop your videos from playing directly. We will trigger 3 warning emails, and will propose an add-on to get more video views, according to your needs, and being as fair as possible with your legacy plan.

*About Sumo-lings needs 👇

1) No-watermark option: we realized many people from the AppSumo community work with clients and need an option to propose them a service/feature/product that has some whitelabelling possibilities. This is a dealbreaker for them. Just so you know, in two days we received 44 requests for it.

2) Higher upload limit per video: our vision towards short and informative videos (30 sec to 2 min) made us set a 300mb restriction since the beginning of Vidjet, but the market is pulling toward longer videos (5min to 10min). We came across this hypothesis before, and eventually validated this assumption another time with the AppSumo community. So, in order to better serve Sumo-lings, we decided to move forward with a 1gb upload limit to better serve the AppSumo community.

Hope it is a bit clearer, and I hope it won't stop you from moving forward with our tool.
