First, why are “pings” important for a video? I understand they relate to SEO, but I’d like more clarity on how these backlinks actually contribute to video growth and visibility.

Second, regarding syndication: do I need to have accounts on all the platforms where links are being sent, or is this limited to platforms I already own? Are these links being posted on my profiles (like Tumblr), or are they being distributed elsewhere as signals for search engines and crawlers?

I just want to better understand how this works in practice so I can use it effectively.
