I am beginning to realize that this is a trend with a lot of these software distributors to simply create a shell product, offer it as a lifetime product and then close it down after a couple years. Notable names were sessions, airdeck and the list goes on. If this is the case, I would ask that Appsumo put something in place to protect us from these people. You guys must have seen this trend by now right? I wrote to the company and they truly do not care that I bought the highest tier available and they are not addressing the fact that I have subusers on my system. Appsumo what is the solution here.
I received an email informing me that the developer is simply shutting it down. It's not just this one product. This is serious, and if it happens, you should avoid all projects they're involved in.
I don't know if they'll reconsider and change their mind. But until that changes, I'm giving them the lowest possible rating.
I spent nearly $150 on VidTags, and now with VidPowr and VidChapter shutting down as well, that's another $160 down the drain, only 2.5 years after purchasing these! I didn't even get an email from the seller about VidTags or VidChapter shutting down, unlike VidPowr. I only happened to come across a comment about those from someone else. You cannot trust any LTD sellers at this point. I am so disappointed and upset that my hard-earned money is going down the drain with this LTD and so many others on AppSumo in the last two years.
Another one bites the dust... VidTags will be retired on March 31st 2026, together with VidPowr
Unfortunately, VidTags will join the growing list of "lifetime" deals that had a way-too-short lifespan here on AppSumo, together with VidPowr. At this point, any trust in future "lifetime" deals is seriously impacted by these continuous "lifetime" deals suddenly disappearing with very short notice after only a couple of years...
The product will be discontinued on March 31st, 2026, and no replacement has been offered as of now. To top things up, I just received another email that VidPowr will be retired, too.
I tried writing to their support, but the only feedback I received was as follows: "If you purchased VidTags through AppSumo, I believe they will communicate directly with customers later this weekend with additional details specific to AppSumo purchases. They will provide guidance on their policies and next steps. In the meantime: - Your VidTags access remains active through March 31, 2026 - You can log in and use the platform as usual - You can export your data before the final access date No immediate action is required at this time. We recommend keeping an eye on your inbox for AppSumo’s upcoming communication. If you need help accessing your account or exporting your data, our team is here to assist."
I patiently wait to see what AppSumo will be doing...
