Q: Hi guys, So after a brief conversation with support on the platform, I have realised that the product is ...
"Pseudo-White Label" and wanted to let fellow-sumolings know about this as it is not mentioned anywhere in the description. I am not sure if this is important for most Sumolings, but this is very important for me especially as an Agency.
Basically, we CANNOT change the Vidthere logo on the platform (top left) and we CANNOT customise or White Label the login screen either. We can only change the logo that appears DURING the meetings/webinars etc, and this has to be done EACH TIME we create an event. The support did tell me that they will ask the developers to put a 'save option' there to prevent adding logo each time. I am not sure when this will be implemented though and why isn't it already implemented.
The problem is that even on the SUB-ACCOUNTS, we cannot change the Vidthere logo for the platform. So for agencies like mine that are planning to sell to clients, our logo or our client's logo cannot be placed on the platform. Sub-Account admins can only change the logo that appears during an event and not on the platform itself and this has to be done while creating EVERY event. I don't think my clients would want to go through the hassle. It's very strange that we have an option for CNAME but the logo itself cannot be changed? Which doesn't make sense for me! In other words, your clients or staff can see this product is Vidthere's as a reason I feel this is NOT A full White-Label Product!! I was very excited for this one but yea... I guess the team has got a month to change things (if they like) and give us a true white label product, else I might just refund my 3 codes and wait for another future deal. No-wonder it seemed too good to be true lol.
Just wanted to put this out there as this was not mentioned anywhere or by other members, and I had to try it to realise we can't change the main platform logo and this is being called white-label etc. Hope this helps other Sumolings in the same boat.
Questions for the Creators:
1) Would you be willing to give us the option to change/whitelabel the main logo (top-left) on the platform? If yes, then how long would this take?
2) Allowing us to customise/whitelabel the platform "login" screen, would you be able to provide us with this feature? If yes, how long would it take to complete development?
3) Option to add logo/branding once and making it default, so that we don't have to add it each time we create an Event. Would you be willing to do this? If yes, how long would it take approx for this to be ready and usable.
Thanks!
hi there, thanks for the notes here. I'll take them one at a time below:
We'll have a look at making the 'save' option a priority so that you don't have to make the customisation each time. (In tems of why we haven't done this already, it is just because there are only so many hours in the proverbial day and it hasn't been so important to our users to date: Your points noted however).
We will apply these changes to sub-accounts too.
I think that addresses your three questions. In terms of timelines for these, I don't have a firm date, but I would expect them to be implemented by the end of September. If you'd like a more accurate update, please let support@vidthere.com know and they can follow up directly when we finalise this in the prioritisation order.
Thanks again for the interest.
Hi Naila,
Thanks for your response.
In regards to why this hasn’t been implemented yet, I meant, if a user wants to change your logo/branding and wants to apply their branding, shouldn’t it save it that way, because the user changed it in the first place as they have their own branding, and in the next event why would they want to use Vidthere branding? It is obvious they want to use their branding, so once changed it should save? Unless I am getting it all wrong, i think it is a basic feature, just like the user name/profile is saved, just like the company name is saved the logo should save too? Just wanted to clarify that, it wasn’t to point out errors, and it isn’t about users didn't ask for it or doesn't have demand, its more about thoughtfulness etc. However, I am glad that you have agreed to the saving of branding and implementation of the platform branding including login page, this will be true white label and I appreciate your efforts in taking feedback and improving the platform.
If I may, I have one more suggestion. Could you please apply the automatic saving option to the event landing page as well? One has to redo the whole branding of the event page including logo and colours each time we create an event. Thanks!
Outside of the white label option problem that you do not like, is the quality good? I do not care about the white label option since this is for personal use.

This is helpful. I bought 2 and was thinking when they said branding support, that there was some actual branding to be had. I want to add to this "branding" list.
1) When will I be able to brand the auto emails that are sent to those that sign up? I rather my intraged tool do that but it seems there are some other emails being sent... see #2.
2) Will Vidthere keep emailing my clients when they sign up? I don't think you should be and especially telling them "If you have any questions, feel free message us at support@vidthere.com - All right reserved. By Saasuma Inc." That's not white labeling.
If they are going to www.thisisacoolurl.com for a video conference and then get an email branded with Vidthere, that is not good and will cause clients to question the product I am trying to sell.

I can't find the ability to edit my own post.
I see the additional branding and see where I can change it. I agree with the other person about saving those branding settings. I think they should be under "Settings" and not have to be edited with each set up at the minimum, save the last setting to the next one.
