Q: Teamviewer
Is this a TeamViewer alternative?
Can you access any desktop/laptop remotely?
Can you bot any desktop from any distance?
viewflip
Sep 4, 2024A: Unlike Teamviewer viewflip is an app that does not take control of the entire computer and makes everything visible to the operator in first instance but allows to share a single window on your screen. You stay in control of which app you want to share. This improves security and makes sure that you are not accidentially sharing more than you want to, especially when you have lots of other stuff apps running on your personal computer. Think of all your browser tabs, open files or desktop background. With viewflip you don't need to pay attention to this anymore when sharing.
Also, viewflip was built with collaboration in mind. In apps like Teamviewer or Quick Assist you take full control over the other person's computer but in viewflip you can collaborate on any shared window with multiple mouse cursors and keyboards, allowing for very quick and dynamic problem solving.
And last but not least, viewflip is cross-platform, allowing you to send native macOS windows to a windows desktop and vice versa.
In addition, viewflip is characterized by the matching of suitable experts, which happens automatically based on the software skills stored in the user profiles when a suitable expert is searched for.
tl;dr?
viewflip is designed for sharing individual program windows and therefore offers much more privacy when working together.
fyi part of the reason there is so much confusion on apps ability is the at-a-glace description indicates this is an "Alternative to TeamViewer" hopefully apps abilities can be clarified so it is better understood. hope this helps!
We are not saying that various use cases are not possible with viewflip. We don't yet support all the common features of Teamviewer - but we don't make €600 million a year like Teamviewer ;)
We are constantly improving viewflip to meet the expectations of our customers. There is already some technical integration in our source code that is planned to enable remote access, but we are a team of 3 ;)
