I see a lot of potential with Viewst.

I think “potential” is the key term as long as the team can focus on what they want to accomplish. Is Viewst similar to Crello in its editing interface? Yes. But there are also some basics you can’t do, such as free rotating objects. Does Viewst have an editing interface to animate your template? Yes. But it is very basic.

But Viewst does some things other programs don’t and can’t. For example, you can export your design not only to JPG and PNG, but also as HTML for ad networks. That could be a selling point for you.

What was the selling point for me? I'm very interested in batch generation based on CSV import, which is on their roadmap. Ideally, I could upload a few hundred images and use the file name to specify them in the CSV so that I could create unique designs. But we will see…

Aside from the HTML export, another cool feature that Viewst has is that it allows you to select multiple layouts at a time (ex., Facebook, social media, floating, or custom size). You can then edit one layout and it will mirror your changes across all the different sizes, giving you a giant canvas with a preview of all the formats. I think this is a really cool feature.

Overall, I think Viewst is a good deal at the moment because it’s not just a cookie cutter online social media creation tool. The usage limits are generous and the price is good. However, the competition in this market is fierce and Viewst will need to keep improving and innovating to carve out a niche in this space.

Lastly, here are a few things that could be improved:

1. Free rotation. Viewst only lets you rotate 90 degrees and free rotation of text, graphics, objects does not exist.
2. Fonts. Viewst has TONS of them but scrolling through the list is a nightmare. Also it takes a few seconds once you scroll the list to load the previews. Maybe there could be a filter to show only serif, script, decorative, etc?
3. Need opacity for the shape border. This is a big deal. Right now, want to make a hollow triangle, a hollow square, etc? You can’t. Instead of adding more shapes, the solution is to create an opacity for the shape border that overrides the opacity for the shape itself. That way I can set the shape opacity to zero, but still have an opacity set for the border.
4. Need a way to create folders for projects. If I have multiple websites, it’s hard to keep things organized.
5. Moving something in the animation timeline causes the image to vanish. It only re-appears when I press play or click the blue line on the timeline.
