Awesome Platform, But the Plan Pivot Hurts
We quickly moved from another really good social platform to Vistasocial. Thankfully it didn't take too much time to get things set up. The interface is really nice and there are a number of customizations (i.e. making the entries on the calendar appear smaller) that work well for our use case.
There have been two times when we had a server error. This fixed itself in just a few minutes, so there was no need for a support request to be submitted. It did make me worry a bit about the growth because of AppSumo, which had been appeased previously by the top tier reviews on a variety of sites that Vistasocial had accrued over the last couple of years.
What really hurts, though, is that they decided to create a custom AppSumo plan instead of keeping the Pro and Pro+ correlations in tact. This concerns me because other companies who have done similar things have used the "custom plan" as a scapegoat to keep new features from their LTD users. Worse is that some "new features" are masked that way when they are sometimes current features with major enhancements.
I am not a needy client. I understand the pains of growing a business. However, it would make a lot of sense for this team to look at their strategy and consider a move back to the alignments to Pro and Pro+.
