Q: Key Canva-Alternative Updates that VC Needs NOW

Longtime Crello/VistaCreate user here and im glad to see this is back for more sumo action, but I have to say - with the existing feature set from Canva that allows users to upload PDFs, .AI/.PSD files, proportional image resizing, importing/sharing pre-made templates for other users, as well as providing an app marketplace to expand functionality upon the base product, it feels as though this tool has been severely lagging behind that main competitor for quite some time now.

Are we aware of the significant market share that Canva has and if so, what is the team doing here to plan for the future in regards to staying competitive? We'd all love to know!

Canva is valued at ~50B. Vista's parent company is valued at ~2B, and VistaCreate is probably a loss leader in their portfolio. VistaCreate won't be able to keep up with Canva, and that's okay. Just be aware that with this low lifetime price comes a more limited -- although still respectable -- set of features.

Have you used the product yourself?

This feedback is coming from someone who has already had real-world experience with the product. I want this to be a strong contender in the market.

Regardless of valuation, as a user, you should be open to having the latest tools available to you in the marketplace.

If it stops being useful to you, what benefit is the lifetime price that you paid?

I have used the product since 2021. Also, I agree that your suggested features would be very nice to have. But demanding them "NOW" may be a bit misguided considering the situation.

You sumo-lings really have to stop putting words in my mouth.

Of course we all know that development takes time; what I’m pointing out is that since the last time it’s been featured here it has lagged behind comparatively to the market leader.

I think before others get onto the purchase, it would be wise for us all to know what their plans are with this return. Open your mind up a bit.

Literally quoted you verbatim, but sure. Cheers, mate!

You seem like the kind of guy that wants to be right, even when it doesn’t benefit the tribe. Hope that’s serving you - cheers.

Not every project needs a nuclear power plant to light a room. VistaCreate delivers exactly what many businesses need at a lifetime flat rate. If you want Canva's full enterprise ecosystem, great - go pay their premium rates. But don't mistake feature bloat for value.

Again, someone who would like to see the potential in one system being the best that it can be isn't the same as asking it to serve a completely different market.t

The suggestions that are outlined are applicable to both small teams and mom & pop groups - not everyone wants to be locked into Adobe's system, so why not help it grow to a new era of creative design? These features are needed.

I'm with the original poster. Having purchased Crello and still use it often, I am constantly reminded that it has not been updated since Vista purchased it.
While I am not looking for the powerhouse features of Canva, it would be remiss of any owner not to continuously improve the existing abilities and add new features to attract more subscribers.
