Easy to use alternative to Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
I am very impressed with the tool Alina and her crew have created!
Doing visual design for many years, I am very proficient at using design tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc. Yes, professional software tools come with much more features then Crello and they are therefore better for handling a gazillion of professional design use-cases. But, for a quick work and fast design drafts the combination of Crello's pre-made templates, their huge stock asset library and their tailored content dimension approach are awesome. Plus, I like the interface, it is clean, clear and you can find everything you need on one dashboard. You do not have a steep learning curve like with Adobe products, so for non-designers this is an awesome tool. Period. And even for professional designers Crello provides a lot of quick fixes which allow to get things done much quicker then with creative suite software.
Two things to improve though:
- Branding feature: Very nice, but please, add the option to include all three branding items (logo, color palette and fonts) in seperate custom branding folders: For every company I am designing for, I would like to have a seperate folder containing the three branding items. Otherwise, the branding menu becomes cluttered very quickly.
- Design canvas: I would love to see a layer tool like in the Adobe creative suite which allows me to fix layers and to switch between them. It would make designing with a lot of single items much more easy. Currently, drag and drop does not work all the time and I have to move items away just to get to design other nearby items.
Conclusion: Am I going to ditch my beloved Adobe toolset? Hell no, but I will use Crello as a first quick-shooting design tool which gives me a lot of new ideas. And sometimes, I don't even need to open my Adobe suite because Crello has given me everything I need... Five tacos for that!
