Q: Meeting/webinar access
Can you please confirm again whether Vivomeetings is compatible or not with the Safari browser?
You answered in previous questions that Chrome or Edge are recommended. However, Safari also supports WebRTC, so I'm curious why you don't recommend Safari?
If your service isn't compatible with Safari, that's a huge deal breaker for me as it makes the meeting inaccessible to about 1 in every 5 attendees. I doubt most Apple-based attendees will be willing to download a new app they've never heard of just to attend a webinar

May 27, 2025A: We support the Chrome and Edge browsers for video conferencing. Chrome is the industry standard for live streaming and podcasting because of its excellent WebRTC implementation, optimized media management, and consistent performance across various operating systems.
Chrome offers the most reliable video and audio processing, improved bandwidth management, and fewer compatibility issues with conferencing platforms. Its advanced hardware acceleration and codec support guarantee smoother streaming with lower CPU usage and enhanced battery life during extended sessions.
While Safari is suitable for basic video calls, it has well-known issues with WebRTC performance, limited codec support, and inconsistent behavior across various conferencing platforms. Additionally, Safari's stricter security policies can interfere with camera and microphone permissions, leading to connection problems during critical meetings.
On our platform, when you click to join a meeting, you may see a pop-up prompting you to download an app or to continue in your browser. If this pop-up appears, it indicates that your current browser is not fully supported. However, if no pop-up appears, your browser is compatible and will provide excellent performance.
For professional video conferencing, live streaming, or podcasting, utilize Chrome or Edge to reduce technical difficulties and ensure the best experience for both you and your participants.

Hmmm... I suppose I need to make a distinction. When we talk about browser compatibility, are you referring to the browser of the HOST or the ATTENDEES, or both?
Myself as the HOST, I will use Chrome/Edge/Vivo Software/App, no problem.
My question was referring to the browser of the ATTENDEES.
If I use Chrome to host the event, can the ATTENDEES use Safari without issues or not? Thanks
You're welcome. We strive to be transparent in our responses, unlike most providers, who require you to find information in their support documents. If attendees are simply watching or listening, they can use any browser they prefer, but they won't experience optimal performance.
