Vivomeetings abruptly shut down - Money lost ... a very familiar experience with Appsumo.

Yes, we know, some of those products are in development and we are the first backers ...
It is also for us, Appsumo users to be aware of that: you invest in a product, desiring it will go on for at least the next 15 years to come; but if it doesn't, you lose your money.

However Appsumo really overwhelms us with products to "have for a lifetime" - the product's lifetime, not yours (so if it stops 1 year later, you're the chump) - and they keep tempting us in getting this and this and that for our business.

But the time to investigate on the product, to consider if it's a good purchase or not, to familiarise with the product if you bought it, ... FOR EACH PRODUCT ... takes you DAYS (if not MONTHS) that Appsumo has taken from you as well.

And when the bought products (sometimes for many hundreds of dollars) just stop working or they get abandoned, all your hours and money are gone as well ... but Appsumo keeps promoting for more.
I haven't been on Appsumo that long, and yet, i have seen MULTIPLE times reviews of discontented users who lost products they bought, and i experienced it myself at least 3 times ... at least 3 products which took my time, my money, my attention ... all of those lost (because some of those products didn't even make any return on investment). A familiar experience? To how many of us?

But Appsumo keeps promoting you this product and this product and that one, and that SUMO DAY, and that BLACK FRIDAY and that CYBER MONDAY too ... you buy, they gain, products get abandoned, you lose, they gain.
Nevermind us ... Appsumo gets its millions, they're happy ... that's what counts.

Time for Appsumo to take the L's as well - stop trusting their LTDs, stop buying, stop getting onto the platform (unless it is to warn fresh comers who are in the honeymoon phase), inform others to skip AS, share your losses - Inform, share, and leave.
Maybe then, they will feel again the consequences of letting its customers to be fleeced and discarded.

And anyway, nowadays, Appsumo's products are mostly product-with-AI ... with services that can just be done *with any kind of AI* once trained or developed; instead of spending time and money on Appsumo, better to spend them on getting your customised product done, either by yourself or a developer ... at least it truly becomes your LTD.

Appsumo, are you going to answer anything here?

These companies on here should at least open source the code when they just pack up and shutdown without warning.

Can't trust Appsumo anymore after this. Sorry, but what is the use of a site like Appsumo if they don't vet products. Pity

I purchased Vivomeetings Plan 7 for $623 because AppSumo advertised it as providing “Lifetime access” and “All future plan updates.”

Now Vivomeetings has shut down, my Plan 7 is completely worthless, and no meaningful compensation has been offered.

I understand that SaaS companies can fail. However, AppSumo cannot profit from selling products as “Lifetime Deals” and then place 100% of the risk on customers when those products disappear. This is not the first AppSumo lifetime deal I have purchased that later shut down or abandoned its users.

AppSumo now states that Vivomeetings was not vetted and was not covered by its “We Got Your Back” guarantee. If that is the case, why was an unvetted product allowed to be sold on AppSumo for as much as $630 while being prominently marketed as offering lifetime access?

A 60-day refund policy is meaningless when a “lifetime” product shuts down after the refund window.

AppSumo should provide affected customers with a substantial refund, equivalent AppSumo credit, or a genuinely comparable replacement product.

I paid $623 for Plan 7. “Lifetime Deal” should not mean “you lose everything whenever the vendor disappears.” AppSumo needs to take real responsibility for the products it chooses to list, promote, and profit from.
