Finally found a winner after 2 years.
I had been stuck on zoom for 2 years because I tried many other online meeting platforms, and almost every single online meet/webinar platform appsumo has had for the past 2 years, and they have always been missing some function, or been unclear in video quality. The closest I’ve had was a platform that could stream videos but was lagging every few seconds, and the videos shared were pixelated. :( I live in Singapore, where standards are very high, and I am unable to accept any standard of video/screen sharing which is laggy and unclear. So what are my honest thoughts about vivomeet?
Here’s what vivomeet can do well and clearly (without lag) - I am on the basic plan, and will hope to share more on PRO plan if I do get it in future:
- Online meet (just like zoom, people chatting and meeting in a group, and in 1080P clarity - huge difference compared to any quality less than 1080P).
- Whiteboard (both parties can write at the same time - previous platforms either cannot write on the white board at the same time, or when done, written words can suddenly disappear from either party who wrote on the whiteboard).
- Screen annotation (This is so important, because sometimes I want my clients to click an object or drag an object from one part of the screen to another. This allows me to easily circle the item they should drag, and draw and arrow to where they should drag the object to. It also helps you to circle a mistake on a student’s worksheet which is opened on their screen).
- Hand raise (I dont use this much, but being able to do it is goo, and this feature is missing from many platforms)
- Snding a link to clients to immediately join the video call without having to download the program/app on their phone/devices.
- Schedule your meeting
- 3 options for meetings
- Virtual background
What else can zoom do that vivomeet cannot? I really can’t figure for now, because I use zoom extensively, many hours a day, and this has completely taken over zoom for me after 2 years of continuous testing. If any of you want to clarify on the features, feel free to ask me on Instagram: Astarvlogs - I never shy when sharing good news and good programs with others ;)
A few suggestions for the Vivo team
> Larger white board/Larger screen for annotation.
For now, the maximum I can extend the screen to, still has a large wide border around the whiteboard or shared screen. Will be good if i can extend this to the entire monitor size so it is easy to write.
> Object clear on white board.
Instead of having to erase a wrongly written word bit by bit (I know we can use the large eraser tool), but having an object clear is very fast and easy, and saves a lot of time.
> Individual volume control
Sometimes, an individual sound much louder than others, or audio from his screen share is very loud. By being able to manage the volume of each individual, the meeting experience will be better.
