I've tried voice cloning on several other apps and none of them came this close. VocalLab got my voice to a T. The tone, the pacing, the small things that usually give a clone away just are not there.
My accent is a hard one to pin down. I'm English, brought up in Australia, and I've traveled the world since, so it's a bit of everything. Most tools flatten that into something generic or pick one influence and run with it. This one kept all of it.
I'm an author and I use it for the short video clips that promote my books. The voice is the whole product in that kind of content, so accuracy matters more than anything else. This is the first tool where I have not had to re-record because the clone did not sound like me. Excellent job.

The accent point especially means a lot. English-raised-in-Australia-plus-the-world is exactly the kind of nuance most tools flatten into something generic, so hearing that we kept all of it — not just one influence — tells us the cloning is doing its real job.
And you nailed why it matters: when the voice is the product, "close enough" isn't good enough. Knowing you don't have to re-record for your book clips is honestly the best compliment we could get.
