Too much Hate, it's a solid platform

We're in the weird transition to TTS, and in 2-5 years this will all probably be free. But for the time being, bulk TTS is costly, and I have used DOZENS of these services (including many from Appsumo - Play.HT, Speechki, Unmixr, VoiSpark and Uttr which became Blakify) over the years.

This one is one of the better ones, and I'm tempted to get a 2nd full stack (if that's allowed - or if I can stack beyond the max stack, I'd do that). Why?

1) Most of these voices have "tells" that they're AI - but nearly all AI - even best-in-class AI - have their hiccups. But they have ways to let you modulate many of them to make them far more malleable than other platforms.

2) VoiSpark is actually MORE generous with your cloned voice than it is with the stock voices. I don't know if that's an accident... a feature, or a bug. Currently live on AppSumo competitor Unmixr gives you (on the full stack) 1.1M character credits for stock voices, but only 100k for your custom voices. I don't know what VoiSpark charges, but it's something like 1:4 or 1:5 ratio of custom voice credits to stock voice credits, which is crazy.

My fears?

1) My biggest frustration is that you are (currently) limited to what looks like 5,000 characters per iteration, but seems to expand when you pass it to 10,000 characters, but no further.

I regularly do hour long podcasts, and that means I'd need to - one at a time - make about 6-9 recordings, then stitch them together in another program like camtasia or audiacity.

2) Some voices are mid, but many are solid... Many are trash, but some are solid.. however there is NO preview option, and NO ability to adjust pronunciation. Got a podcast calling for it reading about Doug III, it's "Doug 'eye eye eye'" in many (but not all) iterations, and even trial and error burns credits

3) The software dies (like Speechki, which was the BEST and which I'm dying to replace; or Uttr which became Blakify, and then subsequently died). The credits seem generous enough (I'd like more, or roll over but I defniitely understand why that's not feasable with the current state of TTS tech - they have to pay for every voice rendered, and if you had a dozen people do nothign for 5 months then do a TON, it could break the system - They're banking on this base helping them launch. I hope they're successful (that's why I'm leaving them a positive review). But Appsumo's options currently are batting only 3/5 (and Play.ht seems to have depricated some things for sumos).

I've also purchased a full stack of Unmixr, which has lower quality voices, but currently has a seemingly unlimited character limit, so I can do a podcast in 1 go, and it let's you both preview AND adjust pronunciations. VoiSpark's 10k limit might be great for some people, but not me (I'm TOLD they're raising that, possibly this month (Sept. 2025) - but that is yet to be seen.).

So...

I'm hopeful. I really do want to stack more codes or - if I have to and am allowed - buy a second (or third) full stack. This combined with a platform like Subscribr (also found via Appsumo, and probably in my top 10 all time deals) is KILLER for making a podcast that has legs. If VoiSpark fixes the low character limit, I might 2x or 3x that deal, because they're that useful and will be for the foreseeable (but probably not indefinite) future.

You can get this deal in good conscience.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review!
We really appreciate you sharing both what’s working well and where we can improve — it’s feedback like this that helps us shape the future of VoiSpark.

A couple of points you raised that I’d like to address:

1. Long-text limit → You’re absolutely right that the current 5k–10k character limit can be restrictive for podcasters and audiobook creators. The good news is that increasing this limit is already on our roadmap, and our team is actively working on it. We want to make long-form projects much smoother without needing so many stitched-together files.

2. Previews and pronunciation → Both of these are important, and we hear you. They’re on our radar as we continue to expand features — our goal is to give creators more fine-grained control while keeping the workflow intuitive.

3. Generous cloned voice usage → Not a bug 😉 We genuinely want creators to feel empowered to use their own voices across projects, so we designed the system to make cloned voice usage practical.

We’re glad to hear VoiSpark stands out among the many TTS tools you’ve tried, and we’re committed to long-term growth. Also, we already have paying monthly subscribers outside of AppSumo, and this LTD is a way for us to grow while continuing to improve quickly based on user feedback.

Thanks again for the positive review and for believing in what we’re building — we’re excited to keep rolling out improvements that make VoiSpark even better for podcasters like you 🎙️🚀
