Will You Go to the Volley Ball With Me?
I have been looking for a tool like this for awhile now, and there have been a few that have graced the store recently. One that just left, QuickReviewer, one that's on the Marketplace, Pagereview.io, Zooc (kinda), and Volley. I read mixed things about QuickReviewer so I passed. I had been looking at Pagereview, but decided to pass on that given its very restrictive plan (1 workspace = 1 website...doesn't get you very far), tried Zooc and refunded it almost immediately, so Volley was the last resort - not because I didn't think it was great, just wanted to save the best for last, and I'm glad I did ;)
Granted, Volley has its drawbacks: it's restricted to websites and you can only leave comments.
The thing I did like about some of the other products mentioned above is that you could collect feedback for various mediums, not just one. Additionally, all of the other products provided more tools, such as CSS styling (Pagereview), annotations and drawing, and some other features. You're quite limited with Volley. That being said, it's not a bad thing necessarily because Volley just...works!
- Install the extension (minor gripe here, but the link to the Firefox extension doesn't work, it directs to the Firefox add-on store, but not to the extension itself and when searching for it, I only found it on a shady site I didn't trust).
- Create a workspace in Volley
- Navigate to the site you want to work on
- Click extension
- Click anywhere on the page to leave comments
- YOU'RE DONE!
The dashboard is clean and simple, very intuitive. Resolving comments for a project is also simple and intuitive (seeing a pattern here?) and the screenshots it takes of the site are accurate and fully load, no anomalies or artifacts floating around to clutter things.
You get unlimited everything (except users - but collaborators are useful as well, and arguably more important, no?) all for $49! For a straightforward, easy-to-use tool that has zero learning curve for clients, I don't see why you wouldn't get Volley. Just be sure to manage your expectations, don't come looking for other tools (not sure if those are in the works or not) and you won't be disappointed!
Looking forward to using this a lot more :)

May 9, 2024Hi SapphireWolf,
WOW, we're so honored by your honest and thorough review. As a UX designer of 10 years, I put all my knowledge and experience into making the Volley user interface simple and intuitive and I'm happy that it shows.
I'm excited to share with you one feature that we are currently in the process of developing that we hope will extend the offering beyond just comments :) it's the ability to draw, add shapes, and text over the top of websites in addition to commenting. Here's a look at the feature from our roadmap:

there's a gif there that shows the new feature. This feature is currently in development and will be available to you as a verified purchaser by the end of the year!
Thanks again for all the kind words about the Volley UX. Feel free to email me directly at alex@meetvolley.com at any time with any additional thoughts, questions or needs.
Happy Volleying!
