Q: In the plan you are offering here on appsumo, when the site is finalized for a customer, does he have access ...

to the site using a username and password? Can he have access to his own website hosting/editing dashboard?

Thanks!!

Hi wspolidoro,

Yes, once you have built a website for a customer, you can create them an admin account and they can log into the backend to modify the site and manage it themselves. If you're using the Developer mode option, you will have a new option to hand over site ownership to another account so that everything is transitioned properly. This will then unlock the platform so custom domains can be added and domain emails created.

Hope this helps to answer your question! :)

But when I fully transfer the site to it, will I no longer have control? He becomes a direct customer of you or I can still, for example, charge a monthly fee and suspend the site if he doesn't pay... Another question: If I put him as an administrator, he can save the site directly in his account, freeing himself from my control?

Hi again wspolidoro,

When you hand over a site, it will (in the normal use outside of the LTD) pass over the hosting costs to us, as we host every website on our servers, where we would handle the suspension etc for any non-payments. But there's nothing to stop you from negotiating some sort of on-going design/content management for your client on top of this.

You can also create Access Control Lists which are very versatile, which means that you can create an admin account for your client which has most of the powers needed to manage their site, but restrict them from deleting other admin accounts, so then you can make sure you are never locked out of the platform if you did have some on-going deal with them requiring access. In effect, you can make yourself a "Super Admin" and your clients "Admins".

I hope this makes sense and answers your question. Let me know if you have any more questions! :)

Does this mean that I HAVE to hand over the site to the client in order to link to a custom domain and create custom email for the site? For example, if I buy the 100 website tier and I create sites for 10 clients who I will give restricted admin rights to (like adding, removing products, etc.) am I able to set up a custom domain for those 10 sites plus custom domain emails for each of them too? Or is this ONLY possible once I have transferred the site to the customer?

Hi anaallen

Yes you would need to hand over the site to make it "live" so that you can add domains etc. But if this doesn't mean that you lose your admin access, it's more so that ownership is logged properly so we know who the owner is for our own requirements (like support and in normal, non-AppSumo sites, for hosting information etc).

But if you are planning to keep managing the sites on their behalf, you can still do that even after its been handed over.

Let me know if you need any more clarification :)
