Q: Welcome!
I full stacked on sitejet because they linked us to their top website plan and provide all their features within their plans. That said they do not have a native store yet and integrate with ecwid (I do not like ecwid and any saas that has marketplaces or addon pluggins because they tend to focus on selling access to third parties to develop their platform by charging their users - happy to see webboss does not operate this way as well.
I am interested but have a few questions:
1. Does the membership module allow us to fetch from these memberships for sso? I am thinking about forums, chatrooms, roadmaps and other saas we have on subdomains to a webboss site. Sitejet did not have a native membership function yet, so this would be an incentive for me, also do these members have control over areas in the website (a profile page, webpage, microblog, listings?) can you build a directory for example? like a classifieds website or realestate site where members can list within an easy member UI?
2. I still build with wpress especially bigger projects but I have moved away from elementor in favor of divy and other fast drag-drop builders. I also find myself using wix, square and weebly which allow me to access to the code but are fast and easy to move elements around without lots of clicks and menus. The reason I purchased sitejet was they assured me they would be launching a much simpler interface this year while retaining a more feature rich mode, their current setup at the moment is heavily menu based (which I do not like) even though they have lots of premade elements that make things easier. I saw some videos on your YT channel, they are from 2 and 4 years ago so there has likely been considerable ui/ux improvements since then, do you plan to implement a quick/basic mode for building fast websites with drag-drop and the ability to manipulate elements within the builder without requiring menus (moving, resizing, merging, reordering, etc) UI is everything for me these days because I find myself building a lot of simple websites and even though I can code I prefer simple and easy builders especially if when I have to turn a website over to a client less familiar with web design.
3. also I noticed "We have an appointment booking plugin that is normally an optional extra"
Can you please clarify this because I was of the understanding that all plugins/modules etc are included in these webboss LTD's. I want to be clear what is included and what are considered optional extras, I couldn't find these on the website.
I am quite interested especially with a native store option but would like to understand the direction of the builder based on above questions also do you have any recent walkthrough tutorials, that would be great to see more.
Thank you!
Question
Hi payteam
1. Does the membership module allow us to fetch from these memberships for sso? ...
> Not at the moment, no. Membership allows people to sign up, create a profile, interact with other member profiles (depending on privacy settings) etc. You can create member groups to categorise people too. This means you can then lock pages of the website to be accessed by members or specific member groups only. The native comments module can also be set to only allow members too. Members can also store their address details and an e-wallet to speed up ecom checkout.
The membership module is also roadmapped for a huge remodeling to make it more flexible for different purposes, plus with the intention to allow things like microblogs, photo albums etc. and a way to even sell on the site. If you have any other suggestions, please add them on our roadmap as a comment on the membership feature request.
2. I still build with wpress especially bigger projects but...
> Yes a new page editor is high on the priority list to be made soon. The plan is to make it a block based drag and drop editor so it's more visually representative of what you're building and quicker to make.
3. also I noticed "We have an appointment booking plugin that is normally an optional extra" Can you please clarify this because...
> All plugins are included, but I think there needs some clarification of misunderstanding. The plugin isn't 100% finished yet, but a few clients required it ahead of time during COVID so we charged a nominal integration fee to prioritise development time. Once it is fully ready for public release, it will be included as standard in the platform in a future update (as with any new feature).

Sorry for the delay in response, I hope this helps answer your questions! :)
Hi Luke,
Thank you for your reply to mine and other peoples questions here,
1. That is great there are plans for a huge remodeling of the membership module, with the ability to expand member spaces and sell on the site is fantastic and could be great for listing digital and physical products as classifieds or some marketplace in the future for classifieds, real-estate, job board, etc It would be great to see some gamification options introduced in this module such as leaderboards, member badges, granular controls over member features (post limits, personalized signatures and headers for example. I understand the SSO capability is not available yet, is there a possible ETA for when this could ship? My intention would be to have members sign into a webBoss site (domain) and then other saas platforms such as forums, chatrooms, roadmaps, boards and other future member spaces on subdomains can fetch from this webBoss membership. We will likely stack for tier 5, the plans are generous and I agree most websites will not exceed 3gb let alone 50gb but Id like to see unlimited disc space per site (as is case with bandwidth) just for peace of mind if anything else. We are in Asia so the site load times are slower than we'd like but good to see there are plans to expand your servers in near future.
2. Great that a new page editor is high on the priority list, I like the control menus or code access affords me when I need it but honestly, most the of time drag-drop and move around is how I build the majority of websites and it helps me build a lot faster is everything for me and two other web designers I work with who will likely buy into this deal if I do not on this account.
3. Thank you for clarifying the misunderstanding on plugins, that is good to hear all plugins are included and I now understand. I am happy you came here, I am surprised I have not come across the webBoss before. Im very interested in WebBoss, I will do a trial and I look forward to the improvements to UI and the capability to fetch as mentioned above in 1.
Thanks for the link to the help section, It also be good to see a larger walkthrough or some webinar series on your YouTube channel, I saw Mike from mrdzyn on here earlier, hopefully he will do some walkthrough comparison to his webstarts, sitejet, and other platforms as well.
Thank you

> I'm not sure on an exact ETA as of yet, but we will keep the roadmap updated with any progress so people can follow and comment on features they want most.
If more disc space was required at a later date, then you can always contact us via the support channels and we can see what we can do.

> No problem :) We will keep adding to and updating these as we go. There is also onboarding tours in the admin side too which will help to guide you through the interface.
