Very Well Built, BUT - It Needs Sumo-Love
The builder platform is extremely well built and versatile. I recommend their app vs. anything else I tried - it's great for both prototyping, creating websites, and launching with all the essentials you need.
What is not fun about the deal is that you are paying to become their affiliate, which makes sense form a business standpoint, but NOT for a community such as AppSumo.
We should encourage deals that fall in line with the AppSumo ideology, not deals that are only for a year and are badly setup.
Since the creator is purposely trying to mislead customers by acting like they don't understand what "export" means (they always provide instructions on how to "transfer" it to your clients' account, which you gotta pay extra for), here's a guide on how to EXPORT YOUR SITE from Weblium. Unless they create a special export feature for the AppSumo community, here's how you get around it.
1. Create your entire site on Weblium, including the marketing connections, SEO stuff, pages, content, etc.
2. Look for a Web Scrapper, such as SiteSucker (they are free).
3. Set your scraper to ignore the "robots.txt" file, so that their protection doesn't protect the site from the export.
4. Download the entire static site to your computer.
5. Run your site's code through a "beautifier". You can search for plenty of them online to clean up your code.
Now, you will need some basic coding knowledge to tidy things up.
5. Download the images that do not display on your local site, and re-link them, and make sure your assets are all set.
6. When it's all tidy, upload it to your own host and enjoy.
Optional:
7. Split your pages into sections using PHP / JS or whatever you prefer, or even have it implemented to WordPress. At this point you can do whatever you need with the code.
Normally, I would respect their business decision to keep things in-house, because that's their whole business. BUT to mislead the community by saying "yeah we can export it as a zip" and when you ask them they won't, or when they say "it's complicated because it's React.js", - that's all just glitter in the air.
They have the technical ability to export the sites, or can easily set it up, but they don't want to.
And it's understandable, but DON'T mislead the AppSumo community if you're raising funds through selling deals on a lifetime deals site. Will be happy to remove the export guide once the community's voices are heard - because I understand it affects them retaining users paying monthly.
Peace.
