Q: cost of Domain
Hi, I read that the business option under normal contract provides free domains but only for the first year, which then cost around $30 per annum. This is very high. is this the same for the offer on appsumo?

Jul 25, 2025A: The current domain registration fee is $36 a year. We know that’s more than other registrars but that’s what we need to charge to support people properly.
What is the price you’d normally expect to pay? Maybe we can do something for Appsummo users.
keirchapmanThank you for the very quick response (like 10 mins). I normally pay between £6 and £10per year via Ionos, but this is for the basic .UK or .com domains. I get that different domains range much higher annually but it would be great if you displayed this (maybe I missed it) or offered tiered amounts based on the cost (.com lower than .service).
I appreciate you allow people to buy domains elsewhere and easily connect but before I looked into it I did assume they were free
Yeah, we're paying more than that for the domains wholesale. It's just not a profitable segment. Even if we offered them at cost we still wouldn't able to compete with other registrars. Most registrars use them as loss-leaders to sell other products or use less than straightforward pricing.
