Q: Why doesn't your DNS support _dmarc as a CNAME (or TXT) host name?
This seems like a pretty fundamental requirement to me, if you want people to use the platform for business class email. I can set up CNAME records quite happily for subdomain redirect, so the fundamental ability is there but it will not allow the leading underscore for a DMARC record.
Is this on purpose (why?) and is there any plan to change it?

May 14, 2024A: We support every kind of DNS entry but we don't make them all available to the end-user. The vast majority of users don't understand DNS and changes they make to their records can create quite a lot of problems, which they then expect us to solve. If you need a specific record added you can email it to support and we can set it up.
Thanks Adam - support told me that you don't allow _dmarc as a hostname, which I thought was rather strange because I was able to easily add a subdomain redirect using CNAME - which is essentially the same thing.
On a plus side, that's basically the only 'fault' (although I 100% accept your argument about users and DNS in general) I have been able to find with the whole platform.
I will email the DMARC record to support - many thanks for the prompt response.
We don't officially "support it". These kind of things are play at your own risk :D
