WebStarts has been receiving positive feedback for its easy drag-and-drop website builder, unlimited domains, and fast performance. While there have been some mentions of limited email addresses and a desire for more modern templates, these are minor issues. Considering the overall positive customer feedback and a rating of 4.7, WebStarts is a solid choice for those seeking a hassle-free website building experience. Additionally, with a 60-day money-back guarantee, it's worth considering for anyone in need of a reliable website building solution.

I love it the most

I might date myself here, but I’m willing to do whatever it takes to encourage others to make the leap. I taught myself html out of a book in 97, took many classes, certifications, and used everything from Pagemaker to Business Catalyst.

I currently have Sea Monkey, Rocket Cake, Blue Griffon, VS Code, Brackets, Nicepage, Dreamweaver, and others installed, but I don’t need them.
I can design just fine using notepad++ and a browser and I typically teach beginners that way.

But what I really love about Webstarts is the all-in-one aspect of managing as a solopreneur - it’s the tool that helps you get across the chasm of hobby to your first paid client.

I tried to break it, honestly. I don’t care for designing in a browser-based builder generally, and I have tried most. I find it is picky on ipad and using peripherals doesn’t work as well as on a laptop or desktop. My mouse won’t easily click and move things, so I use tap and touch, even in desktop view.

I don’t prefer the ai editor being default, as I have to switch back a couple times to get the regular editor to show up. It was great generating a new site and at editing a finished site though.

I love the ease of setting up clients, email, domains, etc. Getting forms up and connected was a BREEZE!
Appointment, booking, store, and membership all BRILLIANTLY EASY to set up.
Help docs and videos are so clear on the basics.
I can easily empower my clients to self manage their sites and learn how to run their business.
LOVE THAT!

So what are my cons, apart from the challenges on mobile?
I would like to control the text message for appointment confirmations- how? I can’t find it.
I love the webstarts ethos of being platform independent- Yes! I have taught that for years.
Today, community is a huge piece of business.
I want to help my clients have a “group” on their own site. Is there a way? I know there are 3rd party work arounds, but they can disappear suddenly or ban you 😳 … I would love to see how to handle this natively.

I think 5 tacos is not even close to what this deserves! Let’s make it cheesy double decker tacos supreme, add full chips and guac, *organic*, and a double helping of Torchy’s Hillbilly Queso. It’s really that good.

Great Software

I'm extremely happy with this software. I can create great designs and easily make adjustments. I use the templates as a starting point and build on them from there. The best part is that I can add cool new blocks with Canva, so anything is possible.

The only downside is that rearranging the mobile version is sometimes difficult. Everything can easily shift upwards, and I occasionally have to start over to reorganize everything. But that doesn't spoil the fun.

So far, you can add HTML code from other parties to add features. The site also scores well on Google PageSpeed Insights for both speed and SEO.

Amazing...

This is honestly one of the best SaaS platforms I’ve come across. The feature set is powerful yet easy to navigate, and it really feels like the team has put a lot of thought into the overall user experience. What impressed me most, however, was the support. They don’t just reply quickly – in my case always within 12 hours – but their answers are detailed, helpful, and solution-oriented. You really feel taken seriously as a customer.

I initially ran into some problems applying my AppSumo codes, and at first I thought it might be a technical issue on their side. In the end, it turned out to be my own mistake: I was outside of Germany at the time, and using a VPN automatically triggered their fraud protection system. Looking back, I actually appreciate that level of security, because it shows that they take data protection and misuse prevention seriously.

Since then everything has been running smoothly, and I’m more and more impressed with how stable and reliable the software performs on a daily basis. Compared to many other SaaS tools I’ve tested, this one really stands out – both in terms of functionality and in the way the team treats its users. All in all, a fantastic piece of software that I can highly recommend!

A Web builder and support? A bitter experience

After purchasing the highest plan, I expected both a capable builder and decent customer care. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing on both fronts.

Templates and Builder:
In my opinion, the templates are very basic, often just a single hero image with a couple of empty sections. I found myself building most of the site from scratch, so calling them templates felt misleading to me.
The builder itself felt clunky in my use, and I found SEO controls to be limited. From my own searches, WebStarts’ own site did not appear to rank highly for competitive keywords, which made me question its SEO potential.

Support Experience:
Initially, I received replies within a day or two via email. However, after I asked for help building a more advanced layout (something closer to WebStarts’ own homepage or Kobba.ie), I felt the communication became defensive. I was told headlines are more important than design, and that the product might not be a good fit for me.

I did receive two “custom designs,” but to me, they were very basic, closer to free Google Sites quality, and did not follow the suggestions I had given. One had just a video added to the hero section, which I believe could be done in under two minutes. When I asked for something closer to what I had requested, I did not receive further assistance.

Reviews Observation:
After looking into some of the positive reviews, I noticed that several appeared to be from people who do not seem to have an active website or any visible online presence. Some had inactive social media profiles. In one case, a reviewer named applicandosoluciones (Susan Andujar) praised the platform heavily, but based on my searches, her LinkedIn account appeared inactive, and I could not find the website she mentioned on Google, Facebook, or Instagram. To me, that was a red flag.

Conclusion:
WebStarts may work well for websites that do not need to rank competitively and for users who do not require assistance from customer care. However, in my case, once I relied on support, I felt stuck with the product and left to figure everything out on my own.

In my experience, as soon as I asked for more assistance, the owner told me the product might not be the right fit for me. This gave me the impression that customers who need help may not be the target audience, and that the platform is better suited to those who are happy to work independently.

I do not enjoy leaving negative reviews and have rarely done so. I would have preferred to give a 5-star review, but I cannot when I feel the owner does not prioritise customer support, and when I feel as though I am a burden every time I ask for help.

This review reflects only my own experience and observations.

WebStarts is a do-it-yourself website builder. We provide a user-friendly interface, a way to create a website from scratch, dozens of templates as starting points, and even an AI website builder for those who'd prefer not to make design decisions.

The user had questions about the capability of WebStarts and provided some examples of site he thought looked "good". Of course site design is...

A thousand tacos for WebStarts

A true gem in a world of soulless website builders
After the heartbreak of seeing Kite.io shut down, I honestly thought no website builder out there would ever feel right again. Most are cold, overly technical, and clearly built for robots with computer science degrees — not for real humans with dreams and projects.

WordPress...? Sorry, but if hell had a user interface, I’m pretty sure it would look like that. 😅
Just when I was ready to give up… WebStarts appeared like a digital oasis.

Why WebStarts completely won me over:
🔹 It feels human – Not just another tool, but a welcoming space that feels personal and friendly.
🔹 Simple but full of soul – You can create something beautiful and functional without headaches.
🔹 Fast, clean, and direct – No endless plugins or bloated updates. You build, and it works.
🔹 Support that feels real – (if you've tried it – otherwise remove this line) Not just helpful, but actually caring about what you’re building.

I’m using WebStarts to build a network of local websites to help connect small businesses with their communities. And honestly, I can’t imagine doing it on any other platform.

I’m already recommending it to people like me — creators who want to build, not battle software. Because WebStarts doesn’t just give you a platform… it gives you a stage to shine on.

🌱 I truly hope WebStarts is here for the long run.
We’ll do everything we can to support and promote it, because it deserves to grow. In a sea of cold, overcomplicated platforms, it’s refreshing to find something that simply… feels human.

Thank you for existing, WebStarts.
And thank you for saving me from falling into the WordPress abyss. 😄
