I've tried a lot of these types of editors and I always end up having to adjust my design to fit the app rather than the app making what I want to happen...happen. Wave has been different. Ya, the average random non-website designer will need to take some time to learn the tool, but it is REALLY easy.

PLUS, the support staff has been ultra helpful in my learning. They have responded with actual answers within minutes of asking questions and have gotten me on track.

Only thing that is missing at this point is a built-in audio player. Luckily there are tons of free players online and you can easily just add custom HTML/CSS/JS blocks and drop them in place.
