Potential, but not ready

I think Whirr is currently worth, at most, 2 tacos (for me), but it has potential. There are some bugs, support is slow, and something that annoys me greatly is that Whirr doesn't use a drag-and-drop builder; instead, you have to type "/" and select an option. Additionally, the available options are very limited. Conditional logic is an absolute must, but it’s missing. The form is also too focused on the US market, and the lack of options makes it less useful overall. Even something as simple as deleting a field is a hassle.

I hope this doesn't come across as too negative, but while it has potential, I can't recommend Whirr in its current state. I really hope the Whirr team speeds up development and improves the product, because then it could be worth 5 tacos. For now, I’ll sit this one out for a while before considering a refund.

Hi ab91, thank you for taking the time to leave a review - your feedback helps us to improve the product for all!

To your point on the doc style builder, this is an intentional UX choice. Traditional drag and drop editors are often clunky and slow to use. The slash menu is designed for keyboard use and offer a clear speed improvement vs drag&drop competitors in building forms (use arrow keys, type, enter to add blocks - rather than needing to click or drag anything). To delete a block, you can simply press backspace - just like a doc! We’ve found that most users love this experience, especially those coming from other modern tools like Notion. Of course, it’s not for everyone - so I’d happily recommend you to check out other form builders if you’re after the traditional experience there! :).

Conditional logic is a feature request we hear a lot, and I totally understand how that could help you - it’s high on the request list! We’re a small and early team, so are prioritising as much as we can to deliver a great experience without compromising on quality. Although since we are a startup, the benefit is that we ship and release features faster than most established form builders (every 1-2 weeks).

To answer your last point re: the US market focus - we’d love to support more locales and language support. Since we’re a US company, we’re focusing on English-speaking markets at this time so that we can build a product they love and then expand later - rather than trying to do too much at once. I hope that adds some clarification there for you.

We hope we can improve your experience with the product over time as we grow, and once again thank you for leaving a review! It means a lot to us.
