Well worth the money
I have not been particularly good at reviewing my Appsumo deals - sorry Appsumo - but I feel that when a really good product comes along, I have the duty to support it with at least a short review.
I tested and played with Wishpond for several hours last night, and these are my thoughts:
- The app was a bit buggy when I initially started using it. When I contacted support, they responded fairly quickly, and advised it was probably my computer or browser. It wasn't. I logged off and logged back in, and it worked fine, so I wonder if this isn't an overload of people trying out the software (I.e. Appsumo deal). I did not deduct any stars for this because I did not experience any issues from this point forward and my overall user experience was excellent. But, just a heads up for the dev team...
- The builder is very slick, with a lot of custom options like CSS and Javascript. This is my favorite part of the tool and I'd give it 6 stars if I could. It did take me some time to learn the ins-and-outs, but I was very happy with it. As a web developer, I'm usually less than impressed by the customization limits placed on tools. Wishpond is truly fantastic for developers like me. This leads me to a shoutout for other developers, since this tool is robust enough to present use cases well beyond what is marketed. In other words, if you have some skills, don't overlook this tool: It's gold.
- I wish there were more native integrations I could take advantage of, particularly because 50k emails will not suffice in the long-run for me. I understand that offering >50k emails might be unrealistic for the developer, so I would recommend the dev team look into putting forward some sort of voting-based roadmap to perhaps accommodate something like this with integrations instead. This is much more cost effective than internally opening the limits.
- I understand the pressure for the increasingly better deal, that Sumolings try to push on developers. I try not to be "that guy." If it makes sense, however, I do think it's worth a gander. I would suggest maybe adding some additional codes... up to 5 or even 10... to allow for individuals who want more of an agency-type platform (more CNAMES, emails, etc.). Obviously this has to make sense to you guys as well...
- I like and will use this product in my work, so if additional deals come along (either during or after the Appsumo promotion), I will be a supporter. I'm excited to see you guys make this valuable software better, as it really is well developed for the right users. I predict that this deal will sell out very quickly once people understand the possibilities of the tool.
- I need more exploration time with the tool before I can give a more detailed, technical review, but I believe this might be one of my favorite Appsumo deals to come through in the last couple years. Thank you Appsumo and thank you Developer!
