Wordplay - Long-Form AI Writer

Product details

Q: Hi, nothing's changed on your website, roadmap (which is very light and lacking in detail) or social since v4 release 8 months ago!

In one of your few youtube videos from 6 months ago - you say you will post a video twice a week, but there is nothing since then.

You have a decent product but its difficult to gauge where its going or if it really has a future.

Please share your current vision of Worplays' future if it has one and give us some updates?

Thanks

A: Hi - sorry for the late response. Honestly didn't know how to respond as it's a complicated scenario...There are a lot of things I would change about this business if I were able to go back and redo things. The gist of it (without getting too much in the weeds) is that the dev costs became too expensive for this product and now we are in a pickle where it would cost way more to make big updates to the app than what it brings in, thus it makes little business sense to invest big money in.

We may look into bringing some other features forward in the future (like BYOK) if it continues to bring in revenue, but I'm not going to promise anything as that may introduce new bugs and right now it is extremely stable and works bug-free.

I personally still use it to get first drafts for things. We see from the logs that lots of other people still use it as well (272 articles were created in the past 24 hours) even after buying over a year ago. If we run into bugs we'll still fix them and overall I think it's still a viable tool for creating long-form content quickly which is why we still offer it for sale.

Come on team, answer the man!

I did ask politely, is there any reason why this was ignored?

The only trouble is that WordPlay seem to be avoiding the hard questions.

Well I do feel for you but I must say that buyers here buy with the hope that a project has a big future with ongoing development and feature releases. On the listing it would be fair to state your current sentiments are to the contrary, that you do not currently feel this project has a big future and have no intentions of investing big in it and that as of now it depends on subscription revenue outside of Appsumo.
If the current status quo is clear to all buyers and they still wish to buy - thats legit. Otherwise it could be seen as a bit of a money grab.

Hi Curran just wanted to say I super appreciate your answer! Quite late but I'll say that's part of the learning curve. Transparency like this is rare but so crucial to build and maintain trust with current + potential customers. My deepest thanksđź‘Ź

@Curran35278 You owe it to YouTube followers & visitors as well as AppSumo & prospective customers to update the description and inform (warn) users of your current operations & development roadmap. @Ron_AppSumo As a previous customer of various AppSumo products, I've returned here to seek an AI content software - and this is sooo bad for your brand and imo a disservice to your customers. :-(
