Almost Asana + Toggl, But Key Basics Are Missing
I purchased 2 Worklenz codes because we wanted to replace our current process based on Toggl—a fantastic, convenient time tracker with features that speed up logging the workday across multiple tasks.
After more than a month of testing and daily use by me and my team, I’ve concluded that Worklenz isn’t mature yet.
Worklenz seems to have all the ingredients to combine Asana-style project management with Toggl-style time tracking in a single system, but it’s missing basic features like a simple CSV export for time tracking. Right now, you can only export as a PNG. Honestly, what PM needs a PNG export? We need to see project hours broken down by individual tasks.
Starting a timer is also less immediate than in Toggl, which has a top bar that lets you start tracking even without selecting a project. In Worklenz, you have to dive into each project to start the timer, which slows things down. And if you accidentally leave a timer running and stop it without noticing which project it was tied to, it’s not intuitive to find and fix afterward.
What I like least is that CSV export and billable hours/actuals either are or will be locked behind a paid plan starting at $218.75/month (billed annually). That price doesn’t feel aligned with typical AppSumo users.
For these reasons, I can’t give this product more than two tacos right now. I’m happy to revise my review if I’m mistaken about any of the points above.

Oct 3, 2025Hi,
Thank you for your honest feedback! CSV/Excel export and a more intuitive timer are already on our roadmap, and we’re actively working to make reporting and time tracking much smoother. We’re also reviewing our pricing tiers to ensure they’re better aligned with our users.
Your input is invaluable, and we’ll keep you updated as these improvements roll out.

Not ready for prime time
I purchased a Worklenz license hoping it would help streamline operations and manage projects more effectively at my print shop. Unfortunately, the experience hasn’t been great. The platform runs very slowly, the interface feels unintuitive, and support is only available during non-U.S. hours (at the time of writing, support won’t be back online until 11:30 PM EST). I wish I had tested it sooner so I could’ve requested a refund within the AppSumo window. At this point, it feels like a wasted license.

I was ready to L-O-V-E the app but...
The app is aesthetically pleasing.
It's clear, clean and the statuses, phases and time tracking function made it a delightful experience; however, there is something seriously wrong with the calendar/due date function.
Each time I set a due date, the app would change the due date the prior date. For example, if I wanted the task to be due May 18th, the app would change the due date to May 17th.
This was incredibly frustrating and the developers were slow to respond so I decided to move to another project management app.
Two stars because I was ready to love the app but it couldn't perform the basic function of a project management app: to keep track of due dates.

Potentially good, but in practice very lacking
I’ve purchased several credits and have been using the app for a few weeks. After an initial issue caused by a major upgrade, most features now work well, but the overall structure of the application is rather poor.
The home page is completely useless. The fact that you can only choose between tasks assigned to me or by me, without being able to see the full team workflow, is a major limitation.
you can only set a client for a major project and not for single task. sometimes you refer to different realities even inside a single project.
There is no mobile app, and reminder emails end up in the spam folder.
There are some interesting ideas, but overall I don’t like it at all.

Loving it so far!
As my team is growing, WorkLenz is making it easier to delegate and track projects to my support staff. It's easy to use and get set up. I like that I can make templates out of my tasks or projects. And I'm looking forward to the new client access feature. I've already recommended it!
