A: Hi, A dashboard is a place where you can manage your licenses and sites, download the latest version of the plugin, get remote logs & stats, etc. Unfortunately, it is not possible to create redirects via the dashboard. You have to log in to each site to manage redirects directly.
Remote actions allow you to view redirect stats & logs for sites using the plugin. You can learn more about it...
I have a website, where I get a lot of traffic from external websites. But this external traffic often hits an URL, that has been moved or does not exist anymore.
I was about to write an e-mail to all those writers from those external sites, asking them to edit the link. But then I came across this tool.
- Will I be able to see and track all incomming traffic, from where exactly they are comming from, what they are linking into at my website, and then simply click a Redirect button, to make the traffic hit the correct destination for each of the sources comming in?
- From time to time, I publish random "Sponsored content" on my website. In those posts, there is links to external customer websites. Some of them look for me, to be pretty scammy/spammy. If I want to ensure, that those external links are still working, are not redirecting to other websites, are not redirecting to porn, are not full of malware and more, can this tool tell me and warn me about this as well in an easy overview of all my external links?
Thanks!
(Sorry, I dont have time right now to check the other questions, if those things has already been answered.)
A: Hi, Thank you for taking an interest in WP 301 Redirects!
Yes, that's exactly what you can do and track all the redirects. The redirect log will show you all the hits, including date & time, URL, referrer, location/IP, and user agent so you can exactly who triggered the redirection you set :)
Yes; if you scan the site, the Link Scanner will analyze all of the outgoing links and let you know...
So if I have a visitor, with a destination on my website at blogpost X, then I can with this tool see exactly where they came from with the full URL except if they came from a private post in a closed group from like Facebook, or can I also see the exact link from that exact Facebook post? (Hope it makes sense).
You will have all the info about the redirect you create, but not the exact URL that user came from. You will be able to identify the IP/location of the user, so you can know how many users triggered the same redirect. Or their browser, for example.
Q: I have probably a few hundred pretty links as I currently use the pretty links plugin.
Is there a way to import all of them to WP 301 redirects or would I have to add them all individually?

Q: Is the dashboard where I can view clicks and redirects for all the websites included in the lowest tier?
Can I create redirects remotely through the dashboard for any site or do I have to log in to each individual site to create the redirects?
Also what exactly is remote site logs feature, what does that do and provide?

That sounds really good! Thank you!
So if I have a visitor, with a destination on my website at blogpost X, then I can with this tool see exactly where they came from with the full URL except if they came from a private post in a closed group from like Facebook, or can I also see the exact link from that exact Facebook post? Cause normally with the tools I use now, I can...
Oh, no, sorry, that's not possible :)
