Image compression = Works. CDN = Not Working
I like that I can set limit to specific domain, this is very well suitable for agency a like, where i can install the plugin onto my client's websites and set limit to each particular client site differently.
There are two modes of optimization
1) LOCAL: this mode does image compression + local cache
2) LIVE: this mode does image compression + CDN
The LOCAL mode works fine, the plugin scan your hosting and compress images, but you need to do it manually, there is no schedule. You can still turn on optimize image on upload, but it will be nice to schedule it.
The LIVE mode doesn't work, once turned on, it breaks my website in various ways
- some images not showing
- sometime my page layout broken (due to some images not showing)
- the CDN doesn't load, the image keep showing waiting for "xxyyzz.zapwp.com" and the zapwp.com is WPcompress CDN where my images are copied to by the plugin.
The LIVE mode, the CDN (the zapwp.com) causes my website to slow down, sometime after 20+ secs, some images didn't load from zapwp.com at all.
I tested on multiple websites, multiple hostings, UK based hosting, USA based hosting and Asia based hosting ... all gave me the same results.
For now, I set the plugin to LOCAL mode, I need to turn off the LIVE mode, turn off the CDN.
I will keep my codes, I still hope the CDN will be improved and fixed in the future, if so, this deal will be a very well investment.
