Haven't given any reviews in a while, but this one deserves it.. something you shouldn't miss out on.

I have tried Shortpixel, Smushpro, imagify, Imghaste and a few offline photo optimization tools. It has come to a point that only slight differences in size are main differences in these tools.

1. My journey started with shortpixel but couldnt get the adaptive images to work properly and it would break my site once in a while and had to update. my 42k credits used to be more than enough then after some update.. it would only last a couple of days.. so i decided to move on...
2. Tried Imagify it was ok but felt that my credits were eaten up hastily each month.
3. Tried Smushpro bec it was recommended by a wordpress dev that wanted to use hummingbird. It was ok but too many moving parts to get the right optimization process to get it to work the way you want it.
4. IMGhaste was good.. they supported one of my sites when it went viral 3M pageviews in 1 day... and they probably made a new product from that experience but they were charging 5x more for the new product which was linked to cloudflare cdn which was essentially free.

So why WPCompress? decided to give it a try since a lot of people picked it up earlier. The limits were generous and I didnt have to fear that I would run out anytime soon. It worked off the bat, but had a few hiccups and probably 3 plugin updates in a short span of time.. ( a good thing if you ask me because you see the dedication to fix things) I reached out to James and he sorted out my problems right away. I would sleep worried if the site was going to be ok the next day.. and James made sure that it was, even sending me the plugin even before it was released to the plugin repository. This founder means business and is here to stay.

This is my real world experience.. I actually test the tools myself and see which fits best into my workflow. It is not a perfect tool (yet) but it works the way I expect it too and I am confident that James will be there to support me if need help with wp compress.

The limits are generous, if you need photo optimization + CDN this will be worth the investment for your projects.
