Q: Will this automatically renew the SSL certificates in the future just like the plugin WPEncryption?
This one seems to have more features than that one besides the auto-renew at the moment.
Also, Is there a roadmap somewhere for upcoming features / updates?

If you use the free certificate through the plugin, yes, you can have it automatically renewed.
At the moment, we only have an internal roadmap; there is no public one, sorry.
