Q: Embedding a YouTube video

Hi, I've been watching your tutorials on your YouTube channel. Could you please do tutorials on the following:

1) embedding a YouTube video into a web page without other suggested YT videos / subscribe button etc playing over the end of the video, and can it remove the Youtube logo/link, video title etc?; and

2) I can't find a good tool to embed a fullscreen video (width and height) as the header / hero section on a WordPress website. The easiest option I've found is hosting the mp4 file within the WordPress Media Library and using the native WordPress video embed. This is not good for strain on the web hosting bandwidth as well as page load speed and size. I need an externally hosted video option, so I'd like to see how this could be done with S3, Dropbox and YouTube options, with no playback controls, and autoplay.

Thanks in advance.

A: Hi,

1) Its against the Youtube Terms Of Service when embedding videos to hide the logo and suggest videos at the end. If you want a clean video then use a 3rd party host (e.g. Amazon S3 or DropBox).

2) There are some free WP Plugins to do these type of videos, but as with any video on a webpage you can't autoplay them, as the browser won't allow it unless you have previously interacted with the page.

kind regards,
Matt Garrett
