Q: Is it possible to place tables using shortcodes?
(This would open it up to page builders.)

Yes, every table and chart get its own id. Works at least with divi.

We also have widgets for Elementor, so when you're creating a page with this builder, you can search for "wpData" and you'll see 3 wpDataTables widgets in there (for tables, charts, and advanced filters).
