No better than free TablePress for my usecases
I use free TablePress and due to it's limited data presentation capabilities, I purchased WPDataTables but to my surprise it's no better than free TablePress.
One challenge I see with this deal is that they've excluded two of their add-ons from this basis version - to compel users to buy the addons later as this basic WPDataTables is most likely not going to suffice the need of most users.
Worst part, they are unprepared and not able to make quick decision (or purposely not disclosing) about What will they charge for Add-ons later. It also shows the Appsumo team is not helping their partners come a bit prepared before launching the deal.
I'll wait to see if this changes within refund period or I'll refund it. Probably my 3rd refund of all the 100+ deals I've purchased on Appsumo.

I hope you’ll spend a little bit more time with wpDataTables so you can explore all the possibilities this plugin offers. I am sure you will see the difference and advantage compared to free plugins and many premium plugins as well.
wpDataTables is quite powerful even without the add-ons. You can create SQL Query based tables that can be edited if configured properly; you’re able to either link to (CSV, Excel, Google Spreadsheet, XML, Serialized PHP Array, JSON), or import existing data sources (CSV, Excel and Google Spreadsheets). The filters are included, and you can create charts from existing tables.
We’re not sure which add-ons you’re referring to, but none of them are included in this deal. What is offered as an add-on, has always been an add-on. wpDataTable plugin has all the features it ever had and much more. Most of our users are using wpDataTables without Add-ons, so plugin itself is sufficient for many use-cases. We have add-ons on our website, and you can get them at a discounted price (20% off). Currently, subscription plans are available; we plan to launch lifetime plans for add-ons on our website as well; you will be able to get 20% off for those as well.
If you have some specific complaints about the plugin, please feel free to point out the features you expected, but failed to see in the plugin. wpDataTables is pretty useful even without the add-ons, and you have a lot of options in the plugin, like responsiveness feature for mobile and tablet devices, Foreign Key support, multiple database support, custom CSS and JS.
