Love it but frustrated
First of all Yapper is amazing, if you could only reduce the credits so it will still be monthly, I would personally keep it. But changing it to one time only…. That ruined it for me . That deal could be saved if you gave this deal for limited amount of codes. Or just reduce the credits per month and it would be still an amazing deal. I am sure that many would still keep it if it was that way, getting byok is cool but then why do we need to use Yapper if we already paying for byok from other platforms. I just don’t get it…. Shouldn’t we just use those models directly on their official platforms? Honestly if Yapper reduced it credits , even to 2000, I swear to god I would keep this deal. The platform has incredible potential and I truly love it

Dec 5, 2025Hey Jing — really appreciate you sharing this so honestly. We totally hear where you’re coming from.
Yapper is a fantastic tool, and the original plan would’ve been amazing if it had been financially realistic. The problem was that Sumo-lings used the credits at about 10x the rate of Yapper’s normal customers, which pushed their infrastructure costs way past what their team could sustain. Once that became clear, the choice was essentially: reduce credits drastically or shift to a one-time credit model so the product could actually survive for the long haul.
We get that neither option feels great when you bought expecting monthly credits. Your frustration makes sense, and it’s feedback we’re already using to tighten the way we model usage before deals ever go live.
On the BYOK question — it’s there so power users can keep generating videos at lower cost using their own API keys while still benefiting from Yapper’s workflow, templates, lip-sync engine, and all the sub-apps the founders are building out. But if that setup doesn’t work for your use case, that’s exactly why the 60-day refund window exists.
Thank you again for calling this out constructively. The team at Yapper genuinely wants to keep building something special, and feedback like this helps both of us make smarter decisions going forward.
