Q: Api Costs and used Llms

Hey, I have two questions.

1. Can you estimate how much the API costs with TIER 3 and 4 for an average book with 80,000 words?

2. Which LLMs are used if I select the expensive models, and which ones are normally used without checking the "Expensive models" box? Are the mini models normally used, for example, and the premium models when selected, as with gpt 5 or Gpt 5 mini?

A: 1. The BYOK feature was released shortly before the Appsumo launch so we had no time to run BTOK pilot costs yet. We plan to do this. When using BYOK, you can select among 3 tiers for most activity types (brianstorming, writing, editing, etc.). These correspond to the lowest, the medium, and the higher tier model of eahc provider. So, for Gemini, it would be flash-light, flash, and pro.

2. We use models by all three providers depending on the task, and we upgrade the model if you choose 4x - advanced model option, for most tasks (some tasks run on higher tier in both standard and advanced mode because they are very important tasks). We also change the models used as new releases come out; Youbooks has been running for about a year, and we have made 3 major changes already (things move fast). In agentic discussion, we also use Llama and Mistral.

I understand that everybody wants the best model, but honestly, getting a BYOK account, and spending a lot of money to run on the best of the best is the only way for you to be convinced that it's not worth it. We provide the option because customers want it and use it.

Things to note: If you use a human model, it will rewrite everything in its style, so the writing style of the standard or advanced model is irrelevant. All you get there, by using advanced, is a bit extra knowledge (reasoning tasks use advanced models in any case) but most of the knowledge comes from internet research anyways, so why pay 4x for it.
