Slow and Steady Wins the AI Race
I was definitely a little concerned about how slow it was when I lodged an 80,000-word project, but that was more because I thought I had done something wrong when it clocked over 24 hours. Potentially, it could do with a more user-friendly gauge of what's happening in the background to calm users' nerves as they wait for the result.
But the proof is in the pudding, and the result was near perfect. Just needed a little polish and now it is ready to use. I went to Tier 3 because I saw the value, and I will definitely go to Tier 4 in the near future.
I have been buying apps from Appsumo since 2010, and this one gives me the warm and fuzzies about how much potential it has.

Nov 5, 20251321 deal bought! Wow. No words.
Thank you so much for the review. It's an honor.
[General Anouncement]
We've just added a new editing module on the back end which should push general quality, and adherence to user-provided stylistic directions, higher. Looking forward to getting some feedback on the customer support widget :-)

A Thorough and Reliable Research Partner
I’ve really appreciated how thorough this program is. I give it my information, source material, and the writing style or voice I want—and it delivers exactly that. It uses the correct Latin names for species, adds my own stories naturally, provides proper citations, and checks sources carefully.
My work is nonfiction, and this tool fits that perfectly. I can set things up in the evening, come back in the morning, and the results are complete and accurate. It’s detailed and thoughtful in what it produces, and I understand that good, reliable research takes time—so I don’t mind waiting overnight for quality results.
Overall, I’ve gotten excellent results for what I need and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for accuracy, depth, and a writing partner that truly understands how to handle source-based, factual content.

Nov 5, 2025Thank you! I love that you brought up depth which ia actually a metric where youbooks ranks consistently well above competitors. This is no accident or miracle, most of it is driven by searching and reading hundreds of online pages to come up with the content. Of course, adding your own sources helps.
Just a reminder for prospective buyers - Sources are used to expand the knowledge library of the...

Good value for the price
For the price, we cannot ask for more. It delivers what it says. Thats why the 5 tacos. If could be better? Yes, specially in non english documents. But again, for the price we pay, this tools save me dozens of hours.
Congrats to the team

Nov 4, 2025Thank you! It's sobering to see reviews that compare youbooks against realistic expectations. We spend quite some time with users that have complaints with very specific things, like a big paragraph here, an omission of a fact there, too much repetition in chapter X, etc. They are all right, and we do gather the comments and use AI to draw systemic conclussions about what we can do better. But our...

So far, so broken
I tried to use YouBooks all weekend and it was a lesson in frustration. You can't train the human model (the one response from support said they broke things and now they were fixed). That doesn't seem to be the case and now they've gone silent all day. The app is just broken, it seems.
The app is not very intuitive. They could use some UX design work to help it be more presentable so they options are clearer. I really wanted to like this app but it doesn't seem to to be ready for commercial use. You can do better with Manus.AI or Claude right now.

Edited Nov 4, 2025Thank you for the review. You are right to complain that human model training was down during the weekend. It was resolved promptly on Monday morning.
To train human models youbooks rolled out its own on-demand model training. There were no options to use a provider for this type of work, so we had to create it bottom up. Training models on user provided data, without having a data scientist...

Multiple AI models to improve quality and ensure cohesion in your books.
Testing YouBooks with a free generation piqued my interest, so I started with Tier 1. Now, I’m planning to upgrade to the higher tiers!
I created my first ebook with only 20k+ words. I didn’t expect much since it was only a test, but I’m already impressed with the results. I didn’t even use the advanced models or the custom human voice and writing styles.
I'm in a coffee shop right now, skimming the generated content, and I have to say I would never have guessed an AI wrote this. It sounds authentic and comes across as if the author is an expert in the field.
Again, I didn’t use a custom human voice, only the default one. However, I included as much detail as possible in my prompt and enabled the "internet search" option. These may have helped improve the output.
I haven’t tried the human models and style prompts yet but look forward to testing them. I’m sure these features will make the output even more impressive.
So now, I am officially using the generated output as my "first draft." Thanks to YouBooks, I saved hours or even days!
The platform is simple to navigate and understand. I love that the credits and other details are clearly visible prior to the generation - avoiding confusion and misunderstandings on credit consumption.
I'm also glad that there is a PWA version of the platform. This makes it faster and easier to access YouBooks on my phone, tablet, or laptop while on the go.
The founder and his team are awesome! They genuinely listen to users and respond quickly to queries. This shows their dedication to the project, which is a huge plus for me.
Youbooks generates content using multiple AI models that enhance cohesion across different chapters. In my understanding, the AI models will vet and "talk" with each other to come up with a better and more cohesive output. This has been the selling point for me. I used a different AI writing platform in the past where the writing was okay, but the chapters were not very consistent and coherent.
If you are serious about creating and publishing non-fiction books that readers will love to read, then youbooks is a top choice. Just understand that quality output takes time. And it goes without saying that some vetting, scrutiny, and refinement may still be needed to complete or finalize your book. But the important thing is, you're already done with the first draft - which is usually the hardest part.

Oct 31, 2025Thank you! I was thinking of your review and the negative review below, and it kind of occured to me that positive reviews and negative reviews (the non-spammy ones) say the same thing - youbooks produces a first draft that you can then edit to taste. What differs then, between the 5 taco reviews and the 2 taco ones, is more or less the expectations of the customer.
We stand behind our claim that...
