So far, so broken

I tried to use YouBooks all weekend and it was a lesson in frustration. You can't train the human model (the one response from support said they broke things and now they were fixed). That doesn't seem to be the case and now they've gone silent all day. The app is just broken, it seems.

The app is not very intuitive. They could use some UX design work to help it be more presentable so they options are clearer. I really wanted to like this app but it doesn't seem to to be ready for commercial use. You can do better with Manus.AI or Claude right now.

Thank you for the review. You are right to complain that human model training was down during the weekend. It was resolved promptly on Monday morning.

To train human models youbooks rolled out its own on-demand model training. There were no options to use a provider for this type of work, so we had to create it bottom up. Training models on user provided data, without having a data scientist overlook each training run, is challenging. We apologize for the downtime.

The UX could improve, but we are focusing on the quality of the book generations and on features that nobody else provides (50K+ words of long-form, human style transfer, etc.)

On being silent all day - we work in Athens, Greece time, so there is a time zone difference. We get back to support questions till the evening, and start again when we wake up. That's the best we can do and that is exactly what I did yesterday too, even though I had to take my son to the hospital for 3 stitches in-between!

I am really sorry for the delay you had to experience.

Edit: We just went through our support requests and there was a customer that was very frustrated with the human model taking some time to complete - not sure if that was you. Human model training takes a few hours. We do not cut corners with LORA training, we actually train an entire (small) model to imitate a writing style. To put things in perspective, OpenAI takes months to train their huge models.
