As a small business owner, my major challenge is actually recording video. Although no single step is hard, the combined load of setup, recording, editing and uploading makes me far less prolific than I would like.
Zync offers a really clever all-in-one solution to this challenge.

**Positives**
- Really simple to use
- Does the whole process for you (which is amazing)
- I've not found anything quite like it

**Things that can be improved**
- The default design is pretty 'loud' and there doesn't seem to be much you can tweak
- It would be good to have teleprompter-style scrolling on the script
- The auto b-roll is a bit hit and miss, with no way of tweaking it afterwards (I think)
- There are some issues with Firefox and Safari - though I think they are aware of this and working on it.

I had a few issues with the dedicated subdomain setup, but the guys in there support team were responsive and helpful, fixing it for me. I'm giving 5 stars as this product has real promise. It's not quite there yet, but I know that 4 stars can bury a product and this has real potential.

I like it. I use it. It could use some improvement.

- Video quality is poor.
- Videos take a long time to rip.
- Videos all have the exact same effects and look, some of which are clunky, like text box overlays blocking the speaker's face on the 1:1 format.
- Music sometimes overpowers the main audio.
- Changes made in the editor (like turning off the music track) do not reflect on the regenerated video.
- AI-generated scripts are not usually as good as ones I can make quickly in ChatGPT.
- The cuts are abrupt, and speech is sometimes clipped. The output doesn't have the feel of something that is more carefully produced. I wouldn't expect it to be professional quality, but it could be a little smoother and the effects more subtle.

Overall, this app is worth experimenting with. I find it useful to record a quick video and feed that into another AppSumo app: Video to Blog Post. Then I can publish the post with the video at the top.

Zync is a great concept. I like the idea of trying to make it quick and easy to produce video content. My suggestions to the developer would be to improve video quality and create a series of basic templates or styles of video content: numbered list, basic talking head, screen share/tutorial, etc.

First, Zync.ai is excellent in that it takes multiple steps of video production and combines them into one automated solution. I used to record my wife's vlog content, edit the footage, and put everything together. This would take time, but with Zync.ai, I can see this streamlining everything.

That said, while this automated approach is great for streamlining, it also hinders the content produced and, in many cases, has made it unusable. This is not to say the product is bad; it needs improvement to cater to various social brands.

Here are the areas that need to be fixed:
1. Everything is one take, then bake (hence the title). This means that whatever you record, there are no second chances - it's done. EG My wife did a recording and made a mistake where you can hear her say and was transcribed, "... Wait What.. oh whoopies... I have to do that again. Well thats a bit, I don't want to do that again." There is no way to mark problem areas not to be processed/avoided.
2. Have a few more options to customise the video experience. My wife is talking to people who are event/marketing professionals on a B2B level. Having lots of beeps, boops, and whoops distracts and takes away from her message, making the tone feel a little less professional. Have options (either tick box or choices) to help refine the output.
3. You cannot change or upload your own music (which we have). Whatever the software chooses is baked into the video. If it's not the right fit, you lose credit.
4. Unable to upload your background image for thumbnails (that said, I was ok with what Zync.ai produced.
5. There is an Audience Description option. Still, I am unsure if it directly impacts the content produced (I suggest having a few options to help refine the user experience). EG Dropdown or a way to put in age, location, and demographic options to ensure the AI knows exactly what you're targeting because all these pops, whoops and sound effects are not aligned with our target audience.
6. Unable to change the background, so if we recorded in an environment like a warehouse, we cannot edit the background/blur it or even preset to something generic from the beginning.
7. While we speak English, as Australians, we speak English that aligns much closer with UK English (I'm happy to have UK English as an option).

Branding options are severely limited:
* Right now, you can advise a primary and secondary colour, which is fine, but it would be nice to have 3rd accent colour.
* No way to change fonts that reflect your brand. I would suggest allowing Google Fonts to help align with your brand.
* Logo options cause issues. If you upload your logo, in this case, ours, which is hot pink and white but also one of your brand colours, your logo gets blended out. Have the option to have alternative logos EG White/Black variants and so on).
* Reading the text with a webcam on the top of your desktop can give the impression that you're reading off a script to the side. Have an option to place the text on the top of the browser (or at least placement options).

What options I would like to see are:
The ability to have longer videos (these could use more tokens or be another tier), e.g., 10-minute YouTube video content. This will make it more versatile.

As stated in the beginning, Zync.ai has a lot of potential. But, it needs further refinement and options to align closer with a brand's overall branding/style and voice. So, I am not ruling it out, but I hope in the coming months, Zync further develops.

First Impressions
Zync performs exactly as promised. The AI script generation feature is valuable, condensing longer pieces of text into concise, video-ready scripts of (I believe) up to 3 minutes. The teleprompter function is good, with a “practice mode” that builds confidence before recording. The overall recording process is straightforward and editing ‘just happens’. It’s accessible to novices, while I suspect offering more than sufficient depth for seasoned users.

Key Features
A recent update introduced multi-language support, making Zync even more versatile. UK English is now available for subtitles, alongside numerous other languages. Zync’s publishing feature enables effortless sharing across a variety of platforms, making it easy to distribute content widely and quickly.

Suggested Improvements
While Zync’s feature set is robust, a few enhancements are welcome:

Content Deletion: An easy way to delete content would help avoid clutter.
B-Roll Control: The automatic B-roll addition is not always relevant, especially for specialised topics like in my case humanitarian work. An option to toggle or customise B-roll selection would give users greater control over tone. It might be that it’s there, but if so I haven’t found it yet.
Teleprompter Placement: Adjusting the script’s position closer to the camera would improve eye contact, enhancing audience engagement.
Custom Script Option: While the AI script is powerful, the option to use a custom script without AI intervention would offer more control.
Overall Recommendation
Zync is a very effective tool for video creation, serving both newcomers and experienced creators with a powerful blend of simplicity and functionality. It enables efficient, high-quality production with a minimal learning curve, while also supporting more advanced needs. With a few refinements, Zync could become an indispensable tool for a wide range of content creators.
