What are past projects, failures, or successes you’ve had in your career?

Animaker the parent company was started in 2014 and grew to 200+ employees in 2019.

The team noticed our employees using a screen recorder to solve customer queeries and any workflow in customer success that involved a video deemed much successful.

With that in mind, we launched Vmaker in 2020 with the goal to develop a screen recorder that can help people with asynchronous communication, meeting recordings, customer support and more.

Since the launch Vmaker was made available as a mac application, windows application and a chrome extension.

The product grew to 500,000+ users in 3 years and the only constant question we received from our users was to have an advanced video editor.

Q: Support and Getting Help issue.

I was creating a vidoe, it say something went wrong, when I sent the email to support email which I got after one of my video was export, that email is now working.

Q: number of video export

I want to know exactly the number of video suggestions including published videos. For example, if a long video is published as 5 short videos, is it also counted as the number of monthly videos? Does VmakerAI have a function to convert text to video?

A: The total video exported is the final count. so if you export 5 short videos it will be counted as 5 exports.
We have an AI avatar feature which can help text to video with avatars. But this is not a part of the AppSumo deal, since it is for enterprise only.

Q: Clarify

I want to know when I brought VMaker it was unlimited download and unlimited screen records. Then checking back in there is 30 export limit how does that work? If I screen record does that have a download limit of 30 per month if so this is really bad and why do screen recordings have a download limit in the first place. Also are the screen recording unlimited so have no time limit? I can record for example 5-6 hour screen recording and download it?

The reviews you’re getting on Appsumo are not great and lots of valid points are being raised. You have been around for a while unlike other tool and some of these simple bug still have not been ironed out. What is the point of adding new features if your core functionality are not delivered in the first place. People are investing in your tool as they see potential. Sort these thing out!

A: Hey TopGuy,

To clarify, you still get unlimited screen recording and unlimited downloads. The export limit mentioned both in count and time limit is only for the edited projects via the editor.

When we introduced our AI editor, we did not introduce it as a new plan. Instead we made sure all our current LTD users get to enjoy the addiitional new features without having to upgrade to new plans.

Vmaker is built with our users in mind and we prioritise user feedback more than anything else.

Dissapointed

I was excited to replace loom and get a one time purchase instead of a monthly price. (It's a great deal) - However, my account seems to be setup properly. (I switched emails so I had a snag). After going back and forth with support, I still can't get my account setup correctly. Now it's limiting my recording time to 1min (free account). I'm passed the point of getting a refund, so hopefully this will help you make the right decision.

Has issues, but the team does their best to fix them

I have updated the review from 1 taco to 3 tacos because they are trying, but still a software needs to be better to become more usable to me..

Since I have started using the software I've had a number of issues. The biggest issue you can see in the original post below.

The good thing is that all of the issues I have reported were fixed. For some it took more than a month, some it took a single day. From the communication with the team I see that they are trying to do their best to fix the issues, but some things are simply strange to me how they were not fixed before even coming to Appsumo. For example, in the editor the video looked as the original, but when I downloaded it, the color was washed away. This shouldn't reach someone willing to buy the product in my opinion. This was fixed very quickly.
One I haven't reported is that the subtitles AI was not creating subtitles as they are heard (as it should) but would use synonyms and rephrase the sentences. Hopefull this is fixed by others, I will test it soon.

And there are a lot of user experience issues which I hadn't yet time to report but will report them and hopefully the team will fix them as well and we'll get to the 5 taco review.

During the period of a bit more than one month I have at least 5 times asked the question how can I manually sync/move the captions/subtitles from a certain point in time. Once it was here in AppSumo and other 4 times was in conversation with the support.

I haven't yet received an answer to that question. I haven't received even an attempt to answer that question. And I don't count as an answer “The subtitles will be synced automatically based on the audio in the project.”

And the issue is also not fixed yet. Even though they said it was fixed and told me to download and check in the video, when I checked, it wasn't fixed. The issue is that when I use the option “Edit with AI” the subtitles go out of sync from 20th second, but when I use the option “AI subtitle generation” the captions are correctly synced. Right now they are still trying to resolve this and hopefully they will.

Fixing the issue and the time it takes to fix the issue is not an issue to me.

What concerns me the most is that I ask the same question 5 times and don't get the answer. Any answer is ok. It's not possible at the moment within our software is also ok answer. But ignoring the question 5 times is not ok.

We hear every feedback at the highest priority. This issue took a while since we could not reciprocate it in the test environment. but that wouldn't be the best excuse to not give you the answer after 5 attempts.

couldnt even upload, limit is 4GB per Video

1) I do youtube-videos typically around 10-15 minutes long. the upload-limit is 4GB - sadly i didnt read that beforehand, but this is a dealbreaker. i really dont see the logic of it for a video-maker.

2) couldnt even upload my first video, because i still wanted to give it a try and had a smaller video around 3,5GB - got the message "couldnt upload" several times, then gave up as the upload-limit is too small anyways.

THanks for checking out Vmaker AI. Our upload size limit for AppSumo plans are 5GB per video file. I understand 4K videos would be larger but this shouldn't be of hindrance to upload a test and try the tool.

Avoid at all cost

continuous glitches with the video generator, video downloads, the software sort of works-then breaks-very very very slow rendering times--no 60 day trial--I purchased on October 7, 2024--no refund available--not worth it. AVOID this software.
