I’ve been using WebStarts for years to manage four separate websites. Very easy to create and update. I was recently offered a three-year deal with very significant savings which I took advantage of.

If you design websites for clients, this is perfect for a segment of your potential clientele.
You can provide basic training and get a client up and running fairly quickly.
And then just consult with you for advice.
At some point in the future, they may come back to you for an upgrade.
So getting the unlimited option makes sense.
Best of luck

A Web builder and support? A bitter experience
After purchasing the highest plan, I expected both a capable builder and decent customer care. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing on both fronts.
Templates and Builder:
In my opinion, the templates are very basic, often just a single hero image with a couple of empty sections. I found myself building most of the site from scratch, so calling them templates felt misleading to me.
The builder itself felt clunky in my use, and I found SEO controls to be limited. From my own searches, WebStarts’ own site did not appear to rank highly for competitive keywords, which made me question its SEO potential.
Support Experience:
Initially, I received replies within a day or two via email. However, after I asked for help building a more advanced layout (something closer to WebStarts’ own homepage or Kobba.ie), I felt the communication became defensive. I was told headlines are more important than design, and that the product might not be a good fit for me.
I did receive two “custom designs,” but to me, they were very basic, closer to free Google Sites quality, and did not follow the suggestions I had given. One had just a video added to the hero section, which I believe could be done in under two minutes. When I asked for something closer to what I had requested, I did not receive further assistance.
Reviews Observation:
After looking into some of the positive reviews, I noticed that several appeared to be from people who do not seem to have an active website or any visible online presence. Some had inactive social media profiles. In one case, a reviewer named applicandosoluciones (Susan Andujar) praised the platform heavily, but based on my searches, her LinkedIn account appeared inactive, and I could not find the website she mentioned on Google, Facebook, or Instagram. To me, that was a red flag.
Conclusion:
WebStarts may work well for websites that do not need to rank competitively and for users who do not require assistance from customer care. However, in my case, once I relied on support, I felt stuck with the product and left to figure everything out on my own.
In my experience, as soon as I asked for more assistance, the owner told me the product might not be the right fit for me. This gave me the impression that customers who need help may not be the target audience, and that the platform is better suited to those who are happy to work independently.
I do not enjoy leaving negative reviews and have rarely done so. I would have preferred to give a 5-star review, but I cannot when I feel the owner does not prioritise customer support, and when I feel as though I am a burden every time I ask for help.
This review reflects only my own experience and observations.

Aug 9, 2025WebStarts is a do-it-yourself website builder. We provide a user-friendly interface, a way to create a website from scratch, dozens of templates as starting points, and even an AI website builder for those who'd prefer not to make design decisions.
The user had questions about the capability of WebStarts and provided some examples of site he thought looked "good". Of course site design is opinionated. I took the time to not only thoughtfully answer his rather lengthy emails but even went as far as creating two templates to show we had the capability to create similar designs as the one's shared.
The user continued to ask for further customized designs to which I politely explained that was outside the scope of what we provide.
The value of the Appsumo deal is self-evident. You're getting nearly unlimited access to what we normally charge $200 per site for. We prefer users who see the value of our product, understand there are some limitations (just like there are with all products), and are self-starters.

A thousand tacos for WebStarts
A true gem in a world of soulless website builders
After the heartbreak of seeing Kite.io shut down, I honestly thought no website builder out there would ever feel right again. Most are cold, overly technical, and clearly built for robots with computer science degrees — not for real humans with dreams and projects.
WordPress...? Sorry, but if hell had a user interface, I’m pretty sure it would look like that. 😅
Just when I was ready to give up… WebStarts appeared like a digital oasis.
Why WebStarts completely won me over:
🔹 It feels human – Not just another tool, but a welcoming space that feels personal and friendly.
🔹 Simple but full of soul – You can create something beautiful and functional without headaches.
🔹 Fast, clean, and direct – No endless plugins or bloated updates. You build, and it works.
🔹 Support that feels real – (if you've tried it – otherwise remove this line) Not just helpful, but actually caring about what you’re building.
I’m using WebStarts to build a network of local websites to help connect small businesses with their communities. And honestly, I can’t imagine doing it on any other platform.
I’m already recommending it to people like me — creators who want to build, not battle software. Because WebStarts doesn’t just give you a platform… it gives you a stage to shine on.
🌱 I truly hope WebStarts is here for the long run.
We’ll do everything we can to support and promote it, because it deserves to grow. In a sea of cold, overcomplicated platforms, it’s refreshing to find something that simply… feels human.
Thank you for existing, WebStarts.
And thank you for saving me from falling into the WordPress abyss. 😄

Good Experience So Far
I've built a couple of simple sites so far with this program and its been pretty quick and easy to work with. Since forms, email newsletter, etc are all included, that's kind of nice. You don't really need anything outside of this builder to get going. The list limit at 500 is a bit lower than I'd like to see but not a deal breaker. Its more important to get a decent looking webpage/site up quickly and get rolling and WebStarts certainly does that.
I can't really comment on some of the bugs other people have run into, or anything on the support side because I haven't needed any help.
Overall I was pleased enough with my tier 1 purchase to bump up to tier 2 for more sites. That usually only happens when I'm finding an app useful enough for my purposes to do so. WebStarts checks that box.

Surprisingly good experience building websites, but with some limitations
Building websites with this platform is incredibly easy and intuitive. The AI features are quite helpful and streamline the process significantly. However, it's worth noting that AI generation is limited by a daily credit system, which wasn’t clearly mentioned in the initial deal. This can be frustrating—especially if the AI output isn't accurate, as you lose credits even with flawed results and must wait until the next day to try again.
Website creation and deployment are both fast and straightforward, which is a big plus. On the downside, there's no option to choose a server location in Europe; all servers are based in the U.S., which may impact performance for some users.
Overall, this is a great tool for quickly building landing pages or full websites. It would be even better with more generous AI credit limits and European hosting options.

A Mixed Experience with a Positive Ending
[The Product Itself]
Let me start with what WebStarts gets right: Everyone keeps saying the user interface looks outdated, but honestly, I disagree. It's simple, functional, and gets the job done. The included email and blog features are genuinely solid additions, and the websites themselves load ridiculously fast — faster than most platforms I've used.
WebStarts has a lot of potential, and the core product isn't bad.
[Initial Setup Challenges - One of the Worst Onboarding Experiences]
That said, for a company that's supposedly been around 18 years, the onboarding process has been one of the worst I've experienced from an AppSumo deal.
I purchased the 3-code WebStarts lifetime deal from AppSumo for $239 and tried to apply all three codes to my dashboard. Here's what happened:
1. I initially encountered an HTTP 500 error when trying to access the billing section
2. I finally got in after following a workaround mentioned in another review (adding a website first)
3. After applying the third code, I received a green message saying it was applied successfully...
But my dashboard still showed only two codes applied, and it still said I was on Tier 2, not Tier 3. Even worse, when I tried to reapply the third code, it tells me it's already been redeemed — so something's clearly wrong with how codes are being tracked or applied.
[Support Issues and Resolution]
(Initial Support Problems)
I reached out to support twice with no response. If their excuse is that their spam filter blocked my emails, that's not a valid reason — especially not for a SaaS product this mature.
[Where Things Improved]
Eventually, a support representative personally reached out and took ownership of the problem. Here's what happened:
- They acknowledged the technical issues and didn't try to dismiss my concerns
- The support agent contacted a developer at home to resolve the problem
- Issue was fully resolved within 24-48 hours after personal intervention
- They provided helpful alternative contact methods for future support needs
- All three codes were successfully applied to my account
[Communication]
The support team was honest about the technical difficulties they were experiencing with the code system. While frustrating, I appreciated their transparency and personal attention to my case once they engaged.
[Email Delivery Issues]
Worth noting: The team mentioned that several customers reported sending emails to support@webstarts.com without receiving responses due to aggressive spam filters. They recommend using their help chat system or responding to existing support threads for better results.
[Final Thoughts]
(Pros)
- Simple, functional interface that gets the job done (despite what others say about it being "outdated")
- Excellent website loading speeds — faster than most platforms I've used
- Solid email and blog features included
- Issue was ultimately resolved completely with personal intervention
- Honest communication about technical difficulties once support engaged
(Cons)
- One of the worst onboarding experiences I've had with an AppSumo deal
- Buggy code redemption system with tracking issues
- Initial support emails went unanswered (spam filter issues)
- Technical problems that shouldn't exist for an 18-year-old company
[Recommendation]
This was a tale of two experiences: a frustrating, buggy setup process followed by dedicated personal support that resolved everything. The core product has genuine strengths — fast loading times, useful features, and a functional (if simple) interface. However, the onboarding experience and initial support issues are major red flags for a mature SaaS product.
[Would I recommend this deal?]
Cautiously yes, but with serious caveats. Go in expecting potential setup problems, but know that if you can reach the right person in support, they will work to resolve issues. Just be prepared for some initial frustration and keep alternative contact methods handy.
The product itself shows promise, but WebStarts needs to seriously address their onboarding process and support accessibility to match their claimed 18 years of experience.
With that said, just buy 3 codes. Just do it. Despite the initial frustrations that took place, this is still a steal. A solid purchase.
