Q: Nov 19th a poster talked about your SMTP not being secure, bad customer service , slow ticket response time, ...

campaign emails being marked as spam and bounce back. I’m just wanted a company respond before I decide to buy if these are true. Thank you.

A: Hello,

Acumbamail currently uses TLS (Transport Layer Security) for sending emails but not for receiving them. Improving SMTP configuration to enhance security is on our roadmap and it will be fixed soon.

If you are interested in being personally notified when the upgrade becomes available, please open a ticket reaching out to our support team (and they will answer you as soon as the TLS configuration is available).

Sorry, this is not correct (or, if it is, your web site is wrong and your customer support are wrong). Your SMTP service settings page says "* You must connect through port 25, 587 or 25252 and use plain authentication (without SSL)." So if we use your SMTP service - which is part of the product, so we can use our email allowance for transactional emails - we cannot connect to the SMTP server using TLS. It can only be connected via plain text authentication. It's not just about receiving emails. Any time a customer of yours connects to your SMTP server and sends an email, everything is plain text. I think you are misunderstanding my concerns and ask you to please check with someone internally ASAP.
