A: No, you do not need the chrome extension if you are connecting your context to an AI via our MCP server. The browser extension though has some added benefits like sidebar (use your context on any website), highlight anything from anywhere and save to your memory, and injecting context in prompts without MCP.

If you let's say connect MCP to your own claude or chatgpt, then only context addition will use your credits, and the larger the context and the more the entities and relationships AI Context Flow has to create, the more the credits will be used. Accessing/reading the context will however not use your credits.
