Has potential, but still having a few issues

AI Email gives you a separate view of your Gmail, with tools to sort messages, apply filters and rules, and draft replies. It offers Manual, Copilot and Autopilot modes, plus multiple inbox views and email history by sender.

The AI drafting has been useful in my tests. For example, it produced a helpful reply to a message written in Spanish with some German. You can review and edit drafts, and add context about your business or clients to make replies more relevant.

However, I’m still wary of relying on AI Email to manage my inbox. The filters haven’t always worked correctly, and the AI has misinterpreted messages—for example, treating spam as something that needed attention and misclassifying an email as a potential client enquiry. I’m not yet confident that important messages will always be sorted correctly, so I check the results and keep access to my regular Gmail inbox.

I also found a signature issue, and one translation request selected the wrong language. These experiences make me cautious about enabling more automation. I haven’t tested autonomous sending, and I wouldn’t turn it on until I was confident the rules and drafts were behaving as expected.

The good news is that support has been quite helpful when I’ve raised issues. That’s a real plus, especially while the product is developing. Still, helpful support doesn’t replace the need to check the filters yourself.

There are a lot of settings, so take your time with onboarding. I’d start with Manual or Copilot, review the AI’s decisions, and monitor credit usage. In my initial testing, I used 18.45 credits after a small amount of exploration; actual usage will depend on your mailbox and how often you use AI. Check the current AppSumo deal for its credit terms.

Overall, AI Email has promising features and can save time when drafting replies, but my experience with its filters has been mixed. Support has been helpful, yet I’m still cautious about trusting it to sort my inbox without supervision. I’d recommend testing it gradually and checking its work before relying on it.

Hi Richard, thank you for the detailed review and the video walkthrough, and for the honest 3 tacos. Testing gradually and checking the AI's work before trusting it is exactly the right way to start, and starting in Copilot is what I'd recommend too.

A few clarifications:

Sorting: AI Emaily shows the reason for each decision, so you can see why something was filed. When it gets one wrong, move it back. Your reports about filters and misclassified mail helped us find real problems, and they're logged with the team.

Signature and translation language: I'd like to look at these properly. Could you email the details (which mailbox, which language you expected and what you got) to [email protected]?

Credits: sorting each incoming email costs 0.05, a summary 0.1 and a reply draft 1, so 18.45 after exploring is normal. The monthly refill and one-time bonus depend on your tier.

Thank you again, it really helps.
