In the meantime, there are so many unanswered questions here, but no response from the developer or support team.
And the time for the "Limited Supply" promotion is running out. Where is the seriousness towards the potentially new Sumo-ling customers from this promotion?
To be honest we haven't seen those questions! 😮 We just figured out that this secret deal is in a different tab than the original deal we did, and have separate questions! Sorry for that, we'll on top of them already 😊
Yeah I think it is weird that they run a second promotion and don't jump in the support questions here. Also weird that they have custom AI in tier 3 and 4 but apparently released openrouter support only in tier 4. I like the product and was just about to upgrade to tier 3 to get openrouter support but that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
And you can always email us at alice at heyalice.app and we answer a lot of q's every day :)
Q: Support....?!
Hello Doesn't it seem strange that the Developer only answers selected unit questions? It gives very much to think that support will.....answer yourselves! Does the colleague intend to answer all the questions asked here? The way it looks so far is unacceptable these days. I bought level 3 and I am running away, because we have had sad experiences here more than once with products with very bad support, and if there is a problem here then what will happen next. Regards AdAlbert
To be honest we haven't seen those questions! 😮 We just figured out that this secret deal is in a different tab than the original deal we did, and have separate questions! Sorry for that, we'll on top of them already 😊
Custom AI is a brand new feature, that we've just deployed to Alice few days ago. In short, it allows to connect your own back-end and use local models (like Ollama).
As we've just released it few days ago, we don't yet have a video tutorials covering it but will create it really soon, for sure. For now, we've created a template of a server in Node.js technology can be found here: https://github.com/iceener/heyalice-nodejs-backend-template
I hope it helps!
This is a big one for us. We're developing Alice to be the best front-end for any LLM use. Alice should be able to work with your company's data and connect to your custom AI and back-end. This means your entire knowledge base will be at your fingertips. Plus, you can limit access to data based on different company roles. You'll also be able to use offline, safe, and private models to operate on these knowledge bases.
By default, Alice communicates directly with OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, Perplexity, or Ollama servers. However, from now on, it is also possible to connect your own back-end application with Custom AI. This makes possible:
- Connecting your own knowledge base - Integrating your own logic for tool handling - Implementing advanced "AI Agents" logic - Connecting your own language models
This is probably great news for all a bit more technical or those working in companies with back-end developers on board. In practice, this is not that scary, especially with an example of a server in Node.js technology can we created for this feature:
But please, remember: This feature is currently experimental and may not work correctly 🤪 But we will surely improve it over time. We're currently running a few experimental Alice implementations with bigger companies, including their knowledge bases in RAGs.
It depends - if a desktop app has an API, like Spotify - yes, no problem :) If not, for now it's hard and close to not possible, but Claude new model has now computer support and we're exploring this! The YT url is something connected to Internet access and yes Alice supports it via Firecrawl API.
Can the "co-worker" read (automatically) a specific email and answer the email as described it - of course online when i am online with alice. Could the Co-Worker trigger APIs (for example HTTP requests to ActievePieces)? Could the Co-Worker monitor a specific folder and do something when there is a new file - for example move the file somewhere else or rename the file or something like that?
Great questions - you can accomplish it all with Alice, but using Automation. Alice will format your message as JSON and send it to your scenario in make.com or Zapier. From there, you can trigger any API you want with this data. For the folder support - yes, provided that this is a cloud folder like Dropbox or G Drive.
Are there any plans to have any sort of online integration in the future? EG if i send a webhook to Alice, and the device is not running, the webhook will be missed or i need to create a workaround to check and delay the webhook sending (from my understanding) - is there any plan to have some sort of online component to handle this better (eg to even just catch the webhook until Alice is back online to access to data sent while she was unavailable?)
Have been playing with this, and it looks great, but any intergration we were hoping to achieve become unrealistic without something like this
Usually we relay on error handling in make.com or Zapier for this, but this would be interesting to explore. We're still not sure what future holds, with new release from Claude maybe you won't need automations any more... we're exploring this!
A: We're thinking about it. Mobile app is our first focus. We still think productivity happens on desktop that is why we primarily focus on desktop now. Soon (new Claude) release apps like this will be able to control computer, too, so desktop makes much sense for us.
No, you don't need ChatGPT subscription. You pay for API tokens so you will just connect your cc to OpenAI and generate API key that you pass to Alice.
Yes, Alice can understand almost any language, including portugeese. 1. You click on the mic icon and can chat to Alice 2. You click again when you finish talking 3. If this is a voice action (you define them in Settings -> Snippets) you can run it even outside of Alice, from a keyboard shortcut. Alice will send your modified input as a JSON to any of your automations. This way you can for example easily ask her to check your todos or add a screenshot to a reading list on Readwise etc. You need to create a make.com or Zapier automation for it though.
How did you get the romote to work - my isn't sending the webhooks.
Q: T4 signup with private email, domain setup later? +++
My use case: I want to purchase T4 personally and experiment with the local Custom AI feature. Later, I would like to use Alice's T4 capabilities in a professional team setup, e.g., with side hustles, I start as a freelancer. My questions: (1) Can I sign up to T4 with a personal email adress, without an immediate domain setup, and add domain information later (in the beginning, only I would need a login account to Alice) (2) After adding the initial domain (abc.com) and over time, can I change the domain (e.g., to xyz.com) multiple times? I would only need to use one domain at any one concurrent time.
1/ Yes, no problem. Let us know on alice at techsistence com 2 / This might be a bit more difficult but possible, only we'd have to agree you're not changing it every month or so 😉 The problem would be technically those previous domain accesses would expire when switching to the new one
Thanks for the re. That sounds great. I am looking forward to the journey as a user with Alice and its team - and I have already booked the ticket! Indeed, there needs to be some agreed-upon fair usage policy and an understanding of the technical implications of a domain change.
Train Alice using Make documentation pages, and she will be able to instruct you how YOU will create your scenarios.
Q: Hi can i simple use Alice without becoming a paid subscriber?
How each credit calculated? Without a Free 50 AI Credits, Do we really need furture credit in order to use Alice? Just wonder, if i just rarely use and may not consume alot of credit, then can i enjoy using Alice with this LTD. without subscriber paln.
A: Free 50 credits are just for a start they don't carry over. You need our plan to have more messages (500 / mo) or you bring own API key and pay for usage.
Please confirm this is your official reply on our Sumolings's Question that similar to my question;
We have some tokens for the start for free, but later on you "have to" either "provide your key" or "buy our subscription plan".
So this mean no matter which Tier we purchased here we still have to PAY for using Alice right? Because it was sound strange for me to invest here and need to pay to use
You say, " or you bring own API key and pay for usage." The clause " and pay for usage" is unclear. Pay whom? OpenAI or other engine? Is it true that bringing our own key results in no future payments for Alice itself?
Not yet, we're searching for best solution. There's a workaround, you can use Brave Search API with remote action and automation. But we're researching something not too expensive that we could integrate natively
Clearly, I know I can't with some of the AppSumo deals, but is it possible to build Assistants for clients and sell to them? This might be exactly what I am looking for.
